Athena: The halls of Night Walker High were bustling with activity as students prepared for the anticipated event of the year: prom. Couples were everywhere, expressing their love and asking their partners to be their dates. Some of them made sweet and simple gestures, such as holding hands, giving flowers, or writing notes. Others chose more elaborate and lavish methods, such as singing songs or creating posters. Everyone was happy except for me, who had never had a boyfriend or a prom date before, and this year, when I was lucky enough to have one, he was acting like a jerk. Daren never apologized for what happened two days ago, and he went about his daily activities as if nothing had happened. His kisses on my cheeks and body were sour, and every time he held me, I despised his touch.
