I try to ignore the sense of dread that sits in my stomach as Ravi drives us through the twists and turns of the local town and out into the countryside. I don't think we're very far from where the original guild building used to be, but I don't think that's where we're going.
But I don't bother asking. I doubt he'll tell me even if I do, especially given the distaste on his face. I don't know if it's specifically aimed at me, or if something else is affecting him.
My tablet sits under my seat, where I slid it after writing the quickest message I've ever done while trying not to get caught. I'm hoping there's some kind of tracking system on it so that Bryce can tell where I am, but we've never talked about whether that's a real thing or not.
