Chapter Two
Bryce slips a hand into mine and gives it a quick squeeze. I return it instantly, letting him know I appreciate the comfort he's trying to give. He's been extra attentive since finding out about Ravi escaping, though I have to admit that even simply being back at the academy is making me feel better. I'm not sure what it is about the huge building full of people that want me dead, but it feels safe. Almost as if it's home.
I suppose in a way it is. The small set of rooms I share with Bryce is the first time I've ever had a space I'm able to control for myself. I may share it with another person, but it's someone who respects my privacy and my right to be my own person. It's heady and confusing, and I love every second of it.
