Chapter Three The haze of sleep blurs the edges of my mind. I can't reach out to wake myself, but nor can I slip into a deeper sleep. Dread fills me. No doubt this means something is going to show itself to me in my dreams. I haven't had any visions since the one while I was turning, but I doubt that has any effect on whether I can still see the future. I've gone nearly a year without seeing anything before, so a few weeks isn't really anything remotely interesting. A dark room swims into focus, the shadows dancing across the floor, spilling over the surrounding furniture. I don't think anyone lives here. They can't. Nothing looks as if it's been used for far too long. I turn slowly, trying to make sense of what I'm seeing. At this point, there's no way for me to know if this is a prope
