CHAPTER THREE:
JUNE'S POV
TWO YEARS LATER
"Why are you late again?" Mr Cole, the manager of the company where I worked spoke with a harsh tone.
I gulped down, unable to utter a word, what I feared most at the moment was losing my job so I dared not speak or say anything that could get him even angrier.
"It's either I am deaf or you are dumb because you have yet to give me a reply" He hissed in anger
My body shook with fear causing me to stammer. "I...I.was stuck in traffic sir"
He must have read my body movements because he realized how nervous I was, he decided to let it go and I was thankful. "One more late attendance from you June and I won't just s***h your salary for this month, you will even lose your job," He said and left the room.
I didn't even know I was holding my breath till he left and I exhaled, with my hand on my chest to calm my heart. Thank God he pardoned me or I would be back on the streets by now.
In the past few weeks, Mr. Cole had successfully fired more than ten employees and if you ask me, I’ll say he still desires to sack more employees, I just wasn't unfortunate yet.
I put my bag inside my locker space and quickly got dressed in my usual uniform before heading to the F&B (Food and Beverage) department.

"Look who we have here. You are one hour late again" Ella grinned widely and I walked inside the kitchen before standing beside her.
Ella had been my friend ever since the first day I started working here, we had lunch together and even gossiped about some of our grumpy customers.
"Thank you for the unnecessary information, do you seriously have to rub that in my face?" I asked rolling my eyes.
"Of course, I don't see anyone here who can do it aside from me," She said before handing the tray that she had finished placing orders on over to me.
"Where's the order for?" I asked
"This goes to room 513 he’s an executive customer, be careful with him" Ella added the last part while wearing a serious face
"Why are you staring at me like that? it's not like he's a monster" I laughed but she didn't budge. She was really serious about not making any mistakes.
"He isn't a monster, this is the most influential man in the country and the manager had asked me not to take the order because he thinks I will f**k up and of course you know you’re one of his best staff and he trusts you," Ella said casually
I raised my bow, astonished the manager found me reliable after how many times I had come late already, that must be why he hadn't fired me after a lot of mistakes when he didn't even give others second chances.
"I will be back soon" I smiled, taking the tray out of the kitchen. I hurried up the stairs so I wouldn't be late again and as I got to room 513, I felt my heart beating intensely.
It must be because he is an important man, I put aside my fears and knocked before entering. At first, I didn’t see any man in the room, just a half-dressed woman lying on the bed sleeping.
Oh what a wonderful sight, definitely something I would love to see on a Monday morning. I rolled my eyes before looking away from her.
I turned around to drop the food on the table when I bumped into a hard figure, it was a human being, "f**k" I touched my head and then looked up to see the huge man I had bumped into.
His features were intimidating, especially for someone my size. He had golden brown hair with a crew cut, a bristle, and thick eyebrows which blended perfectly with his hawkish nose. His cheekbone was well-defined with a concrete jawline.
This man wasn't just influential, he was indeed a monster.
My body betrayed me as I stared at his bare shoulders, he had just come out of the bathroom so he had water dripping down his whole body. He was a sexy monster at that.
He cleared his throat and I found myself looking up and staring into his piercing almond-shaped Rasputin-blue eyes. "Aren't you going to leave? drop the food over there" I heard his deep voice and I instantly snapped back to reality.
He didn’t spare another glance as I went forward to drop the tray on the table next to the bed. "Is there anything else I can do for you, sir?" I asked, pulling out a paper from my back pocket to take any extra order.
He stared at the tray on the table and then gazed at me, there was a short silence which gave me butterflies in my stomach after which he then began to speak.
"I ordered coffee with extra cream, why is this looking like puke?" he questioned raising his voice, all my former thoughts about him disappeared and I was back in reality.
I shouldn't have asked him anything.
Ella would never make a mistake with his order, "Extra cream was added just as you requested" I replied quickly.
Trying to focus on the man in front of me and not the half-naked woman in the bed who had woken up and was now struggling to get into her tiny dress.
"If that is the case, then you do not know what you are paid to do, let’s see what your manager has to say about that" He frowned, picking up his cell phone when I stopped him.
The thought of my manager hearing that his executive customer wasn’t served properly meant I would be fired on the spot. No God would be able to save me so I couldn’t risk it.
"I’m sorry sir, there must have been a mistake from the kitchen department. I promise the issue will be rectified, give me a few minutes" I assured him.
The moment he dropped the phone, I raced out of the door to change his order.
