FALSE ACCUSATIONS

CHAPTER FOUR:
JUNE'S POV
I drew a long breath, and finally, I had successfully rounded up another day of stressful activities. It was 6 pm already and it was time to leave work. I went over the counter to meet Ella who was shocked to see I was still dressed in my uniform when she had changed out of hers.
"Aren't you ready to leave yet?" She asked
"I will be leaving in a few minutes, I just want to wrap up a few things" I replied.
"Since you are still here, let’s have dinner together. We haven't chatted in ages" She smiled and I nodded in agreement.
As if she had already planned for me to stay for dinner, she placed two plates of French toast and coffee in front of me and I gave her a grateful smile before we started eating.
"I wonder how you keep getting in Mr Cole's good book when you have come to work late more than three times this month" Ella laughed
"Tell me about it" I rolled my eyes before continuing, "This morning I almost peed my pants in fear that he would fire me" She chuckled
"Thankfully you are still here, you should try to get to work early because who knows when he would run out of pity for you," Ella said and I nodded
"I'm working on it" I replied.
"I heard from the kitchen staff that you came back to get a cup of coffee with heavy cream this morning, what happened?" Ella asked
"Don't even make me remember, the client in room 513 has to be a man I don't ever want to meet. He is a monster despite how good-looking he is" I said
Her lips curved up in a sky smile, "Don't tell me you are attracted to him"
"Ella!" I yelled and she laughed. "The man is handsome I will give him that but I don't think I could ever be attracted to a man as harsh as he is," I told her
"What happened?"
"You mixed up his order, he wanted black coffee with heavy cream but there was no cream in his coffee, he scolded me about how I couldn't do my job and proceeded to call Mr Cole to have me fired" When I finished Ella gasped.
"My God, I am so sorry June, how were you able to sort things out?" She asked
"It's fine anybody can make a mistake, I pleaded with him and promised to get him the original coffee and that's what I went into the kitchen to take. It was a close one" I said
"I'm glad it didn't escalate, I wonder why the rich handsome men always have rotting personalities" Ella frowned and honestly she was right
"There was a girl younger than him by far in his bed too" I scrunched my nose up in disgust as I told her
"I cannot be surprised because most of them prefer to fool around with young girls instead of adults their age" Ella whispered
"I just felt disgusted when I..."
"I want her fired right now!" Ella and I turned when we heard the ruckus going on inside the reception. I couldn't finish my statement as the both of us got up from the chair before making our way to the reception.
A man was shouting and fuming with anger at the other side of the bar, Ella and I moved to the scene and I was surprised to see the same man I had met in the room with the young woman we were just talking about standing beside him.
"Find her, she stole from me!" He yelled again. Ella and I exchanged confused looks. I wondered who had the guts to steal from a man this huge. If they weren't even scared of getting caught and then getting fired, what about going to jail?
"I wonder who stole from him" Ella whispered my exact thoughts to me and I nodded my head. As I looked up again, my eyes caught him and my jaw dropped open. He was even more handsome now that he was fully dressed.
I could swear that my heart skipped a beat. I was still living in my thoughts when a loud thud slap landed on my face, My eyes widened as I turned to see the young woman who stood by the man earlier shooting daggers at me with her eyes.
"June, are you okay?" Ella yelled and I stopped her from talking. I looked at the woman, "Why did you slap me?" All my manners were gone because she had no right to walk up to me and slap me.
She looked like a woman who just got into college so I was way older than her, I might be a waitress but I wouldn't let anyone treat me like dirt. She scoffed and then turned to the man. "She still has to guts to speak after stealing"
It wasn't until she said it that I realized what was happening, they were insinuating that I stole something from them.
I turned to Ella who was just as concerned for me.
"You are nothing but a thief! How dare you think you can steal from us just because you brought in a tray of food and then go away easily" The woman yelled
I couldn't believe my eyes or ears, my cheek was still throbbing from how hard that slap was but I was still trying to understand what was going on. The man looked at her, "Are you sure you caught her stealing?"
"Yes, I was awake but pretended to still be in bed, it was when you were in the bathroom. She looked around carefully before stealing from you" She lied
My mouth dropped open, this woman was asleep when I got into the room this morning, when did she catch me stealing? I stood still, confused and unable to explain what was going on.
With all the noise she was making, I wasn't surprised when Mr. Cole arrived at the scene with a frown on hi
s face, I just knew that luck wasn't going to be on my side this time.
