BLOOD OATH

Chapter 3: Blood Oath The morning air was heavy with silence as the men stepped out of the vehicles. They wore dark clothing, and each carried the confidence of people who had never been told "no." Daniel stood at the front door, the silver pendant resting against his chest. Behind him, his mother clutched the old journal, praying that the words written by her late husband would not be lost forever. The oldest man walked forward. "My name is Victor Kane," he said. "I did not come here to start a war. I came to finish one that began many years ago." Daniel's eyes never left him. "If you came for our family's legacy," he replied, "you can leave now." Victor smiled. "You still don't understand. That legacy belongs to all of us. Your father stole what was never his to keep." Daniel's mother stepped outside. "No," she said firmly. "He protected it from people who wanted to use it for power." For a moment, no one spoke. Victor's expression hardened. "Then you leave me no choice." He raised his hand, and his men surrounded the house. Just as Daniel prepared to defend his family, another vehicle sped toward the property, sending dust into the air. It stopped between Daniel and Victor's men. A tall woman stepped out. She wore the same silver pendant. "My name is Elena," she announced. "And if anyone sheds blood here today, the truth will die with it." Victor frowned. "You've chosen their side?" "I've chosen justice," Elena replied. She turned to Daniel. "Your father trusted me many years ago. Before he died, he made me promise that when the time came, I would protect you." Daniel stared at her in disbelief. "You knew my father?" "I knew the man he truly was." She reached into her coat and produced an old brass key. "This key unlocks the final chamber beneath your family's ancestral home. The answers you seek are hidden there—but so are dangers your father hoped you would never face." Victor's eyes widened at the sight of the key. "Take it from her!" he shouted. His men rushed forward. Daniel stepped beside Elena, gripping the pendant around his neck. For the first time, he realized this fight was no longer just about protecting his home. It was about protecting the truth. And some truths were worth risking everything for. This chapter introduces a powerful new ally, raises the stakes, and sets the stage for a journey to uncover the hidden secrets of Daniel's bloodline in Chapter 4.
