Naomi Meets A Wolf At A Grocery Store.

After leaving the office, i had decided, on second thought, to visit my favorite grocery store to buy some items. I had run out of some essential grocery items and made up my mind to pick them up on my way home. My weekends were becoming too crowded and any little time i could squeeze out to visit the Supermarket on a weekday would be very welcome. I would have to gradually ease out the buying of my groceries only during the weekends. As long as the times i would use during the weekdays do not conflict with my normal working schedules, then I’m fine.

I took a taxi and headed straight to my usual grocery store. Upon arrival, i paid my fare and the cab driver drove away. At the entrance of the store, I took a cart and moved into the building to begin selecting my items. The supermarket was not a very large one; it was average size by many standards. The inner walls were done in yellow. It looked so bright as if it had just recently been repainted. Very well lit, the beautiful shelves were well arranged in conveniently navigable fashion, providing very easy navigation for customers as they move between the rows of shelves. I moved my cart around, row after row, meandering smoothly and picking my items into the cart. I had been there for about 15 minutes or there about when i noticed that my wolf had become agitated. I did not yet notice anything or anyone of interest. So why was my wolf getting so agitated. Perhaps i had not looked around so well enough to see the reason for her sudden agitation. I dismissed her and continued with my shopping.

The agitation by my Wolf was becoming more and more intense such that i could no longer ignore it. I suddenly found myself having to look for the source of the excitement. “Move to the right,” said my Wolf. “She is between the shelves. She’s also searching for you,” concluded my wolf. As i rounded one of the corners, i saw her. She was unmistakable. It was Margery, the Wolf who sat next to me on the Bus the night i came back from Tacoma. She was wearing a long yellow skirt and a red blouse. Her face brightened as she recognized me immediately and drew me into a hug. I returned her hug.

“Wow, Naomi, I’m happy to meet you here, how are you doing?” She asked “I’m fine, Margery,” I replied. “You must be surprised to see that I’m still here in Seattle.” She said. I nodded my head. “Yea, Margery, I expected you to have since returned to Tacoma. I thought you are keeping a paid employment over there,” I wondered. “Not quite,” She replied. “I’m not on paid employment. I’m actually running my own business in Tacoma, that’s why i could stay for an extended period like this. I came here to visit my sister whose husband has some health problems and so i had to stay for a while.” I shook my head in sympathy. “So, how is the man’s state of health now?’ I asked. She smiled and said, “He is feeling much better, now, thank you.” I sighed slightly. “So when are you hoping to return to Tacoma?” She scratched her head, looked me in the eyes and replied, ”Sunday, if everything works fine. But i would want to make a request from you,” She added. “What is it” I asked my face bright with expectation. “I want you to join me in a run on Sunday morning.” My eyes brightened and I actually smiled. Margery knew exactly what I had been craving for. The truth is that I’ve not been having enough runs as a Wolf. This had a lot to do with not having space to run and been able to get a forested area outside of Seattle to run whenever my Wolf desired it. And my Wolf actually desires to run much of the time. I do actually suppress this urge to run most of the time my wolf desires it. Now Margery has discovered through our mind-link that i actually needed it, and I’m more than happy to accept her offer. “Yep, Margery, i would surely love to join you for a run,” I answered excitedly. “Where are we going to have the run?” She paused for a while looked into space and said, “I actually have two secluded areas on the outskirts of the city where i do run whenever i am here. We would use one of them. I’m not sure which, for now but i would inform you by text message before Sunday. You would surely know the location because you have been living in this city for quite a while.” I nodded and said “Ok.”

“I suggested this to you because i know you have not been running enough. You simply do not have time to run and perhaps you have never thought of looking for a secluded location to run. I know for sure your wolf has prompted you many times for a run but you have been suppressing her. It is very important for a wolf to run regularly. I must tell you we run regularly at the pack community in Tacoma.” She said. “You’re quite right, Margery. I have not been running enough. And when I do, it’s just within my apartment which I don’t even consider to be proper runs. Yes, I’ve been suppressing my wolf. I haven’t really thought of an isolated and wooded area outside of this city to use. But since you’ve showing me one, that means I have got one,” i replied. “Even after i and you finish running on Sunday, You could be running there alone at your convenience before you finally join us at the pack community in Tacoma, She added. “Sure, Margery, that’s why I said you’ve shown me a place for running,” i replied. “And concerning your request for a transfer, I’m aware that your boss turned down the request. I want to assure you that the refusal is just temporary. He will change his mind very soon. Sooner than you even expect,” She assured. “Thanks, Margery, for your concern and very good wishes. I’m also very hopeful that he would very soon change his mind especially when i do remind him again. Maybe, he was not in a good mood when I broached the subject with him. Who knows? He may be in a better mood when next I speak with him on the matter,” I said. “Yeah, Naomi, I hope so too. We want to have you at the Pack compound as soon as possible. When we run on Sunday morning, we shall talk about a lot of things about the Shiny Ivory Pack community as a whole. I will tell you about how the Pack has evolved over time, the performance of the Alpha, the relationships, etc. We will have a lot to discuss, just make sure you come around, precisely by 10:AM. By then you should have finished all your household chores,” She noted. “I will sure honor your invitation, Margery. There is no way i would miss an opportunity like this.” I said. “Ok, dear, I’ll be expecting you. You will receive my text message, ok?” I nodded my head.

With that, we ended the discussion. Margery bade me farewell and went out of the grocery store after completing her purchases. I lingered there for a while to complete my purchases. I discovered that Margery didn’t purchase much, probably because she would be leaving Seattle at the weekend. When i had finished making my selections, i pushed my cart to the checkout counter. I paid my bills and pushed the cart outside where i boarded a taxi home with my supplies. By the time I opened my front door to enter into my apartment, i was already tired. I took the bags containing all the items to the kitchen where most of them would be eventually kept and dragged my tired body to my bedroom where I quickly removed my shoes and my work clothes. I quickly slid into the next available T-Shirt and shorts I could lay my hands on and plopped into my bed to rest for a while before i decide on my next activity. Within a few minutes, i had slept off.

When i woke up, dinner was almost overdue. The time was about 7:30 PM. I had slept for about one hour or thereabout. I had not arranged the items i bought in the refrigerator and the others in the cabinets. I was simply too tired to do that. Now I had to perform the two tasks at the same time. I was already a bit late to prepare dinner, so i had to be fast. For dinner tonight, I had already decided to prepare Chicken Teriyaki. But first, I had to properly arrange the things I bought to where they belonged. I opened the two bags and removed each item one by one, placing them first on the kitchen table. Then I proceeded to place each item where they belonged one by one.. Most of the items, of course went into the refrigerator while the others went into the cabinets. Within a space of thirty minutes, I had finished arranging all the groceries.

It was now time to commence the cooking proper. I put on my stove and placed a cooking pan on it. I adjusted the heat to medium. Then i added Chicken and fried it for about 7 minutes. I added the Garlic and Ginger and fried it for another 2 minutes. I stirred in the honey, soy sauce, Vinegar and i added 100ml of water. Next, i scattered over it the spring onions and sesame seeds. Then I served the chicken with Rice and Steamed Vegetables. The Chicken Teriyaki delicacy was now ready to be consumed. I took it to the living room in a tray where I placed it on a low stool which i dragged to the front of the Sofa. I then went back to the kitchen to fetch two bottles of fruit juice which would accompany the food. In the kitchen, I opened the refrigerator and brought out two bottles of fruit juice which I placed on another tray and took back with me to the living room.

The food was very tasty and delicious. I served my juice into the glass cup which i brought with me from the kitchen. I drank it rapidly, knowing full well there was an extra bottle waiting to be consumed. As I continued to savour my food, my phone rang. A quick look at the caller ID showed it was Alpha Jones. I picked the call. “Hello Sir,” i greeted. “How are you, Naomi?” He asked. “Fine, Sir, and you?” i asked “oh I’m very fine, Naomi. I was just thinking, how is your work going?” He asked. “Fine Sir,” I replied. “I’m glad to hear that,” he said. “About the issue of transfer, you have not told me about the response of your boss.” I fell silent for a while, and then spoke again. “I’m sorry for not calling you to inform you, sir. But he rejected my request.” I could hear him chuckle over the phone. “Don’t worry, my dear, it’s a temporary rejection. Mark my words. He will accept very soon. We need you to move into the Pack compound as soon as possible.” I sighed. “I hope so too, sir.” With that, he ended the call.

I finished eating my food soon after Alpha Jones ended the call. I cleared the mess and took them to the kitchen, then returned to the living room to rest for a while before going to bed. I lay face up on my Sofa, making myself completely relaxed. I must have remained there for an hour or thereabout before i stood up and went into my bedroom. Once in my bedroom, i plopped into my bed and rolled from one edge of the bed to the other a few times. A few minutes later, I slept off.
