Naomi and Margery Take A Run.

2101 Words
I woke up this morning in very high spirits, partly because it was another Sunday morning. I’m still very much in the weekend mood. I had given myself enough time to sleep, at least to make up for what i would like to call the inadequate amount of sleep i usually have on Mondays to Fridays, every single day. The martial Arts Class i attended yesterday was very strenuous and nerve-wracking, but it was worth every cent i invested into it. Today would be another memorable day because i have agreed to have a run with Margery. I have received her text message describing the venue where we were going to meet for the run with Margery. She had sent me a text message describing to me the exact location of the forested area. It was an area that i already knew. It was well outside the city. A heavily wooded area, it was very well suitable for lonely walks and other very private outdoor meets. It’s a real surprise how it had never occurred to me the idea of checking out such a place for running until Margery suggested it. Well, maybe it was due to my busy work schedule. Anyway, i would have to start my household chores very early so i would be able to arrive at the location at the agreed time of 10:AM. The time was around 6:30 AM when i climbed down from my bed. Acting on an instinct, i quickly went to the toilet to empty my bladder and my bowels at the same time. About ten minutes later, i finished m the toilet. I flushed the toilet bowl, poured some deodorant around to freshen up the atmosphere and went out. The mopping of the floor which i had earlier planned to do today could still be done but it might not be now. It might be postponed to later in the afternoon when i might have returned from my appointment with Margery. I went back to my room to try and do my early morning exercises. I did some push-ups and a few other exercises including the KEGEL which i had incorporated into it. After about 20 minutes of some strenuous work outs, i was done with my early exercise. Then, i proceeded to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for myself. In the kitchen I started with my dishes which i had dumped in the sink yesterday night. I started with the pots which I had already soaked since last night. I scraped both the inside and outer parts of the pots before i applied the soap. I applied the soap and scrubbed very well, both the inside and outside of the pots and pans, then began to rinse. After rinsing, i had them towel-dried and kept them handy because i was going to use them again. Then, i commenced the washing of the plates and spoons. I went through the same process of washing, rinsing and drying with the towel. After about 30 minutes, i was soon done with the washing of the pots and plates. Then, i washed my hands thoroughly and dried them with another towel. My breakfast this morning will be Bacon, cheese and eggs. I quickly set about preparing it. I opened the refrigerator and began to bring out the ingredients, one by one. After i had them all assembled, i lighted my stove and put a pot on the fire. I mixed the necessary ingredients together and within 30 minutes or thereabout, the food was ready.. I quickly served it, put the plates on a tray and took them to the dining table. I went back to the kitchen to fetch drinks. I opened the refrigerator and brought out two cans of soda which i took back with me to the dining area. I settled down and ate the food. I poured my soda into a glass cup to have a feel of a few new glass cups i had just bought at the grocery store. The glass felt good and the food was very tasty, much to my delight. I sipped the Soda gently, enjoying the newness of the cup and the great taste of the Soda. I finished eating as soon as my plates became empty. Then, i took the plates and cups to the kitchen, dropping them in the sink. I then went back to the living room to rest for a while and allow the food to settle down. I plopped into my Sectional Sofa and rested my head on one of the arm rests. I then brought my two legs in as i lay on my back, facing upwards. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath as i relaxed totally, taking in the environment. I remained on the sofa for quite a while. By the time i felt i was fully relaxed and stood up from the sofa, the time was well past 8 o'clock. The next thing for me to do now would be to go to the bathroom and have a shower. Though i was about to go for something that would be tiring and exacting, i still needed to shower. By the time i return, i would definitely take another shower or even a bath, whichever I preferred. So, I went to my bedroom to pull off my nightgown and pick a towel. Then i headed to the bathroom. I adjusted the shower temperature and began to have my shower. I washed my body as the water cascaded and applied soap very mildly. Mildly because i know for sure i would have either a bath or shower when i come back. After a few minutes, i was done. I toweled my body thoroughly; then tied the towel around my waist and headed back to my room. My choice of clothing was not too formal, yet no too casual. I was not going to a formal outing, only going to honor an invitation. So my dressing would be as simple as i could make it. I ransacked my closet for something appropriate to put on and eventually chose a white striped shirt and a black pant. I slid into them one by one and put on a shoe to match. When it was about 9:30, i went out of my apartment, locked the front door and headed out. It wasn’t too long after i left the house that i arrived at the wooded area that Margery had described in her text message. The Taxi driver that took me did an excellent job. Apart from being an old hand in the cab driving business, he also showed that he had lived in this city for a considerable number of years. He knew tha area very well. As i came down from the taxi, i saw that it was an area that i had a faint knowledge of. The forest was located well on the outskirts of the city. A heavily wooded and forested area, it was isolated enough and well off the highways, making it suitable for a run. I found a small path and moved along the trail, looking around as i moved, trying to locate Margery. I was not sure whether she has arrived or not. The time was already a few minutes past 10 O’clock. As i moved a few meters further into the forest, i heard someone call my name. I turned my face to look into the direction the voice came from. Sitting on a very low platform to my right was Margery. She was wearing a long skirt and a blouse on top. “You are welcome, Naomi,” She said grinning. “Happy to be here at last,” I replied, returning her smile. “Ok, Naomi, let me just tell you some facts about the Shiny Ivory pack that you probably never thought i knew about. I would be very brief, so we can have enough time to run,” she said. “Go ahead, Margery, I’m all ears,” T replied. “Good. I knew your parents,” she said. “I was not too young when your father was the Alpha and your mother was the Luna of our Pack. I know when they passed away.” I was shocked and pleasantly surprised, all at the same time. I never knew that Margery would have known my parents. That’s because i never knew her until we met on the bus coming from Tacoma. Of course i know that there are older wolves that were born into the Pack, i also know that there are also wolves who are not hereditary members of the Pack. I mean there are wolves that joined the pack. Their parents were never members of the Pack. But since i was too young when i got separated from the Pack, I couldn’t tell who was who. After overcoming my initial shock, i answered her. “It’s good to know, Margery, that you are one of the wolves that knew my parents when they held sway as leaders of the Pack. I’m really happy, getting to know you,” I said. Her face brightened and her lips curved up into a smile. My Wolf instinct revealed to me that she was not yet done with her revelations. I actually wished to hear more before we commence our run. And i was not disappointed. “Let me give you another shocker, Naomi,” she said. I brought out a handkerchief to wipe away the sweat that had formed on my brow, straining my ears to hear her. “I knew you too when you were young. I actually played with you on several occasions when i visited your late mother. Though she was older than me, but we were close. As a matter of fact, you are the only child.” To say i was elated by her words would be an understatement. I was almost moved to tears with excitement. “I’m overwhelmed, Margery,” i said. “Now i’ve got someone whom i can call a true friend and confidant even before i move into the Pack community.” Margery looked at her watch and said, “That’s why i told you all these. I want you to know that you have a friend and confidant in me any time you join us in the Pack community. We will have more to discuss when you join us permanently in the Pack compound. For now let’s run.” I nodded in agreement. “Let us go into an isolated place to shift so we can commence our run,” announced Margery as we went behind some thick shrubs for privacy. I shifted into my Brown Wolf while Margery shifted into a black wolf. She led the way while i followed her closely behind. She knew the trail very well as we ran deeper and deeper into the forest. There were no distractions of any sort and we didn’t come across any rogue wolves as she had earlier warned that we could encounter rogue wolves. I was quite ready for rogue Wolves if we had encountered any. I was quite prepared to deal with any rogue wolves i encounter. Thankfully, we didn’t come across any. We ran for what looked like an hour before we returned back to where we started from. We lay on the ground, panting, our tongues sticking out, our tails wagging, excited at having completed our run. A few minutes later, we went behind a tree and shifted back to our human forms. “Did you enjoy the run?” asked Margery with a wide smile after we had shifted back to our human forms. “Yep, Margery, it was a fantastic run. I enjoyed every single moment of it,” I replied. “I’m glad to hear that,” said Margery. “So, you could always come here whenever you are free to take a run. But, just like i warned earlier, beware of rogue wolves. They roam all around and could find their way here. I told you I once encountered some.” She advised. “Thank you, Margery, for showing me this place. Now i have a place to run, at least.” She nodded her head. “I’ll be going back to Tacoma today as i earlier told you. We will be expecting you soon in the Pack community.” I blinked and nodded. "Thank you Margery, I hope to join you soon.” With that, we ended the conversation. We bade each other farewell and i went back home.
