Celebrating A Mission Accomplished.

1719 Words
I woke up this morning feeling relaxed and happy. It’s been quite a long time since i started living alone that I’ve this kind of feeling waking up in the morning. It is quite understandable. The mission that I accomplished yesterday was no ordinary one. It is what could be called a breakthrough. I can’t believe we have located a Pack and members we have been looking for without success for several years. Going to the Pack community, meeting the Alpha and other wolves has had a very therapeutic effect on my well being. I can safely say without any fear of contradiction that several of the minor health conditions i had been experiencing for quite a while have disappeared between yesterday afternoon and now. It’s a very great feeling and I’m really delighted to experience it. I actually celebrated the achievement as i arrived back home from Tacoma yesterday evening. Yep, I was a bit tired when i arrived home, though the journey took only about 30 minutes. I put my bags in my room, not even bothering to remove the clothes and have them arranged in the dresser and closet. I opted to put that off till another time. After that, my next port of call was my toilet. I had been suppressing the urge to ease myself right from the time i was still inside the vehicle. Though there were toilets in the bus terminal where I disembarked, i decided not to use them. I have something about public toilets which i have not fully comprehended. No matter how clean and sparkling they may be, i just always never had the desire to use them. So I had decided to get home before using the toilet. As soon as i dropped my bags, i quickly removed my slacks, and top, leaving only the Tank top i wore under the blouse. I then took out jeans short from the closet, put it on and quickly dashed to the toilet. Within 10 minutes, i had finished my business. I flushed the mess and applied a sweet smelling air freshener, then moved back to my room. Once back in my room, i decided to have a short rest on my bed to reflect on the events of the last three days and chart a way forward for myself. No need for me to worry about falling asleep, I was not very tired, so the issue of falling asleep would surely not arise. Then i climbed my bed, laid on my back facing up, totally relaxing my body, taking in the sights and sounds of my room which i had left for the past three days. I rolled from one side of my bed to the other humming under my breath, one of my favourite music tracks, ‘The Kid LAROI’ by Justin Bieber. After about ten minutes of relaxing in my bedroom, i decided to move to the sitting room to have a celebration in my own little way. Upon getting to the sitting, room i went to my TV/Entertainment center and slotted in my favorite Justin Bieber song. As the music played, i danced to the beats, tapping the floor with my feet and shaking my head. I did this for about 5 minutes. For better effect, i decided to take some beer to loosen myself up a bit and put me in a better mood. I then moved to my kitchen, opened the refrigerator, and brought out two cans of Beer. I didn’t bother to take any cup, whether glass or otherwise. I would drink directly from the can. I took them back into the sitting room to resume my celebration. I opened the first can and began to gulp it down at a terrifying pace. In a twinkling of an eye, the can had become empty. I immediately opened the second one, but this time, i drank it rather slowly, much like i was sipping it. The music from the home entertainment center was electrifying and soul-lifting. There was no doubt that i was having a swell time. As the beer started to take its toll, hunger also began to set in .I suddenly realized the need to prepare a late dinner. I call it a late dinner because the time was already approaching 9:30 PM. I stood up and went into the kitchen to begin preparations. I started retrieving the plates and silverware from the cabinets where i had neatly placed them before i left for Tacoma. I had ensured that there was no dirty plate, spoon, cups and silverware in my kitchen on the day i embarked on the journey to Tacoma. As soon as i brought out the pots and pans, I lit the microwave. I had decided to use it tonight because I want this food to be done in record time. Otherwise i hardly use the Microwave. I use the stove most of the time. I had already decided to prepare a hamburger for myself. It would be necessary to celebrate my re-union with my Pack. I took the ground beef and put it into a bowl. I added Onion and Garlic, then made them into patties. I continued with the cooking process and in a very short time, the food was ready. After serving, i put it in a tray and then took it to the dining where i began to attack the food. It was very tasty. The meat was quite a mouthful such that I wished it was more than the quantity i cooked. I finished eating only when my plate became empty. I packed the dirty plates into the kitchen and dumped them into the sink, to be washed in the morning. After a few minutes of relaxing on my sitting room Sofa, i retired into my bedroom for the night. The time was already some minutes past 5 in the morning when i sat up from my bed. The first thing i did was go to the bathroom to brush my teeth. After doing that, I moved to stay right in front of the mirror to take a good look at my face. What i saw impressed me. My face was more radiant than ever, and I was looking more confident. I ran my right hand through my hair, tucking in some loose strands of hair to the back of my ears. I quickly moved to the kitchen to see to the preparation of breakfast. I have to hurry up; i can’t afford to be late for work. Once inside the kitchen, i began to do the plates i had placed in the sink yesterday night. The pots had been soaked overnight. I started from the pots, scrubbing and washing both the inner and outer parts up to the bottom, then rinsing and towel drying them. Next, i moved to the plates, spoons and cups. I followed the same process of washing, rinsing and drying. I would be preparing one of the quick breakfast sandwiches this morning to save time. As i positioned my stove, preparing to light it, my phone rang. I picked it, quickly checked the caller ID and saw it was Richard. “Hello” i greeted. “Hello, Naomi,” he replied. “How was your trip yesterday night?” “Oh, it was awesome.” “Good to hear that. But you chose to be a night owl, travelling in the evening.” “Yep, sometimes, situations like that cannot be avoided, and whenever it comes, you have no choice.” “But why did you reject my offer to pick you up at the Bus terminus?” “It was a personal decision. Not what we can talk about on phone.” “Ok. Can we meet today so we can talk?” “No. We can’t meet until Saturday. You know my work schedule.” “Alright, i will be at your place on Saturday morning, then.” “No, Richard, you can’t come to my place anymore.” He let out a deep sigh. I could hear it over the phone. “But why? You’ve been so cold, all of a sudden. Ok, where do we meet on Saturday?’ “I will communicate the venue to you through a text message.” With that, he cut the call. Relieved, i quickly continued with my cooking. In a very short time, the sandwich became ready. I ate it right there in the kitchen and dashed quickly to the bathroom to take my shower. Once in the bathroom, i yanked off my clothes, adjusted the shower temperature to warm water and moved under the spray. It was a very quick shower and within a few minutes, i was done. I quickly grabbed a towel, cleaned myself and headed into my room to dress up. I entered my closet and rummaged through it for my work clothes. I eventually picked out my brown skirt suit and slid into it. I completed the dressing with a brown pair of covered shoes. I looked myself over in the dresser mirror and nodded in satisfaction. . i looked at the time and it was already 6:30 AM when i stepped out of my apartment. It was a few minutes to 7 when I arrived at the office. I entered and sat on my seat. Sophie was not yet on seat but she arrived about two minutes later. “Morning, Naomi,” she greeted. “Good morning, Sophie,” i replied. “How was your weekend,” She asked. “Well, Sophie, my weekend was fantastic. I actually travelled to visit my Aunty in Tacoma,” I responded. “Well, for me, i was here in the city trying to find a way to enjoy the city.” She said. “That’s good,” i told her. With that, we ended the discussion and concentrated on our duties. Everything went on well at the office. There were no untoward incidents. I attended a sales force with my departmental head that lasted about 2 hours, though i did not broach the subject of my impending request for a transfer with him. I decided to put it off till another day. When it was time to close for the day, I took my bag and headed home.
