The look on Julian's face as the boss explained the case to him was priceless. A totally clueless and annoyed expression at the same time. I knew I'd hear the angry comments of "you went behind my back?" "Why wouldn't you tell me first?" would leave his mouth the minute we left the cheif's office.
I had already thought out my response, and it would be that I got the idea only last night, and he had already left for the day. It's pretty simple yet believable, and it would stop the questions as to why I went to the boss first.
You see when you have a partner on the enforcement team it was common protocol to go over it with your partner first, but in this relationship I clearly had no say so I solved that and now my case was being investigated.
The first thing I wanted to do was get some rest. I was allowed to go rest seeing how I was up all night. Also, it was pertinent to our case. Yay, multi-tasking that involves me sleeping, I knew this was the perfect case.
Julian was throwing a bit of a temper tantrum, but I could live with that. I was to keep him up to date from now on. Hopefully, we don't butt heads too much.
