Chapter 19

I returned back to my room after the phone call I received a few interesting looks from my tails. I knew they wondered where I had been and how I had got past them that morning. Not my fault I was up at the break of dawn hoping they were still napping. Now they were wide awake and wondering where I had gone. I waved a friendly wave and acted like life was good. Totally oblivious to their suspicious looks.

I packed up my belongings and headed to the head enforcers office. He was on a phone call, one that had him making a rather unhappy face. oddly enough as soon as he got off the phone and saw me it was a complete 180. The smile he had for me made me feel like I was his favorite person. Completely fake and I think I knew why. So when I told him about a few infractions I would mention to the council and that was it for my report. He looked a little surprised but made a good show of agreeing with my observations as to not push it any further. As I left the office though I literally heard him let out a huge sigh of relief. I just continued on with my departure like everything here was tip top.
