I traveled to the interior by train. Our transportation system is part of the permanent world. As in its something that stays and isn't cycled like most everything else.
For a structure or utility, transport systems to be built they go through careful screening. Also, all the tribes it affects are involved in its planning and creation. Then, the tribe who created it then takes the responsibility of running it.
The train is free for those traveling for work purposes. For those using it leisurely, the cost is whatever you can trade of value.
The tribe of interest I was going to investigate was the Topna tribe. They were a predominantly farming and animal raising tribe. Their lands were vast fields of crop and cows, horses, and many others.
As I passed through their land, I noticed right away that there were signs of damage to the earth. This meant they were overusing the land and not letting it rest, creating permanent effects to mother earth. Trees were cut down with no sign of new ones planted in their place. The tribes waste was building up, causing the earth to be brown and poisoning it. My heart hurt at the sight. How had it got this bad without the enforcement in the area not seeing it?
