I’ve been on edge since we left Maxim’s office. My Dad in an accident…I’m doing my best not to cry yet.
Maxim hasn’t let go of my hand and I watch as he answers another call quickly.
“Yes, yes we’re on the way.”
He looks at me his brow furrowing but then his face clears. “That’s some good news. Thank you.”
He tucks the phone away. “Carys that was the detective in the scene. He didn’t know much about Simon’s injuries but he was breathing on his own and said a few words.”
“They think he couldn’t stop the car?” A few tears slip out. He wipes them away.
“It appeared that way. Let’s not jump too far ahead.”
