HAVE YOU FOUND ANY LEADS?

Monique got to the hospital in a frenzy. She didn't do anything, she was just scared. When she saw her nephew lying unconscious on the bed , she collapsed and wailed. She had been such a failure as an Aunt . After crying, she remembered that someone had called her. She had to ask the nurses and they informed her that he had left. If not for the man, she couldn't have guessed what would've happen to her nephew.

She stayed there quiet for hours, the only sound she could hear was the one from the machine. She couldn't even look her nephew in the eye as she was feeling so guilty.

A knock on the door brought her out of her reverie. Someone stepped in

" Who are you? " Monique asked

" I'm the guy who answered Robert's phone. Name's Damon " he said and stretched his hands for a handshake but was pleasantly surprised when Monique hugged him instead , crying and bawling her eyes out. She didn't care of she did not know him, she just wanted someone to cry on.

" I'm sorry I did that " she apologized as she cleaned her eyes . Damon only nodded as he was flustered too

" I've reported the case to the police. Thankfully, we could get our hand on the footage from the dash cam of a car nearby. The place had no CCTV cameras and was the perfect place for what those boys had planned."

" Who were the boys? " .

" His classmates. I've also seen that particular boy bully him in the coffee shop "

" Robert never told me any of these? "

" Did you put yourself in a position where he could tell you? "

" No " Monique lowered her head in shame

" I've had a talk with this young man and apparently this happens frequently in school and it has been brought to the school's notice but the only thing they could offer was Detention "

" I remember him being Detained "

" Just keep a closer eye on him and if possible, change his school "

" I will have to speak with his principal "

BACK TO THE PRESENT

" Let's go to the hospital now, huh?" He said as he held her hands leading.

" Yeah, let's go "
