Heading home

“Cassidy” I hear. “It’s time to get back on the road” Claire says. I open my eyes and stretch out my aching limbs. A small sense of relief washes over me realizing I’m waking up in the motel and not my pink walled bedroom. We grab our bags and hit the road. I stare out the windshield watching the black sky become a rose and orange tinged sky. Without looking at the clock I know it’s almost six thirty in the morning as the sun starts to bless us with its light. Claire gets on the highway and heads east. “Where are we going?” I mumble sleepily. “Lyntucket,” Claire responds. “We’ve got a nine hour drive ahead of us,” she says. I turn the radio on and close my eyes hoping when I wake up again it’s not quite so early and dark. Before long it’s silent and I’m at home enjoying a hot shower. The hot water feels amazing on my bruise covered body. “My dear Carly” I hear Elise say. I shut the water off and as I step out with my towel in hand the door opens. “My my my what happened to you?” She questions. “I fell down the stairs Elise” I say with a shaky voice. “Excuse me” she says and I instantly know she’s pis***. “Miss.Elise is what I meant to say” I try to save myself and correct it. “It’s okay sweetie” she says. She walks up to me and I try to secure my towel around my body. “You’ll have to show me that you’re sorry” she says as she yanks my towel brush burning my hands as she pulls. “Mikaels hurting you, is he not?” She asks. “I told you I fell!” I said firmly. “Mhm” she says as her open hand smacks a bruised handprint on my ass. “Ow, why did you do that?” I ask. “That’s for lying to me Carly. And this is for addressing me wrong” she says with a glint of ferocity in her eyes. She grabs my breasts with both hands and bends down putting a n***** in her mouth and bites down. I cry out in pain. “I’m sorry Miss.Elise. Please stop you’re, hurting me” I beg. “On your knees Carly Mae” she says as she pulls her skirt up and her panties down. She sits on the edge of the tub and grabs me by the hair on the back of my head. She forces my face into her pu***. “Cassidy, wake up” I hear mom say. “What’s wrong? Another nightmare?” She asks. “If you want to talk about them we can,” she reassures me. I look around trying to calm my racing heart and notice it’s almost noon. “I’m so sorry I slept all morning” I say staring at my feet. “You have no reason to apologize for being exhausted, sweetie,” she says smiling. “Okay” is all I say. “So about last night,” she says. “It seemed so real. Like it was happening all over again” I say tears rolling down my cheeks. “Did Davie hurt you?” she asks. All I can do is nod my head yes and cry. “Does your dad and his wife know?” she asks. “Miss Elise does. But she would do it too” I sob. “Davie knew dad would beat me. I couldn’t say anything!” “Sweetie, I'm so sorry. I never should have left you with him” she cries. “You’d be dead if you didn’t leave.” “You’re here now and that’s all I care about mom. You saved me yesterday from more than an abusive spouse.” That’s when we hear the radio “Carly Charleston”s funeral is today. We have interviews with her family members and loved ones.Chief Mitchells is now going to speak. 'My fiance is very missed. I’m holding onto the thought that I will be with her again one day. My heart breaks coming home from a long day of work without my best friend. Carly's cousin Davie has a few words as well. My dearest cousin was loved by everyone. She was caring, soft and warm.I really miss her smile and our tickle wars as Kids. Lastly Carly's Mom and Dad have a few words. Our daughter was the light of our lives. She was beautiful, compassionate even loud at times, she never complained and was very obedient. We love you Carly Mae and we will be together again. At least she's reunited with the twins she lost two years ago. I break out into hysterics laughing. “My twins were adopted. Mikael told them I miscarried at seven months” I say in between fits of laughter. “He said I fell down the stairs and lost the baby’s. But he kicked me in the stomach at seven months putting me into labor. He didn’t want them” the tone in my voice went down. “Do you know who adopted them” she asks. “It’s all sealed. I have no idea” I say. “ I have to ask Cassidy. Did Davie mean something else when he said tickle wars? And Elise?” She questions. “Yeah mom, I believe they did. It started when I was five with Davie. He took it way too far when I was twelve. I told Elise who then used it against me to do whatever she wanted” I say shuddering. “Did you tell anyone else,” she asks. “Mikael knew. At first he was so loving and his touch sent me over the moon. Until one day I told him no I didn’t want s*x after dealing with Davie and Elise. He took it anyway telling me that I’m a good little whore.” I say fighting back the tears. The car falls silent and we pull into a small fast food drive thru. We both grab a burger, fries and a drink. “We’re almost to my house Cassidy” Claire says. The town is small with a few stores, a post office and a bar. There’s a gorgeous waterfall by the schools in town. We head to the other end of towan and I see an abandoned farm house with a big barn and tire swing out front. I notice a red headed woman sitting on the porch next door. We continue down the road. All the houses on this road have huge yards spacing them all out wide down the road. About four miles down the road Claire hits her breaks and turns her turn signal on. We head up a driveway that runs through what seems like an endless wooded area. Finally it opens up to a huge yard. Her house is a large brick home with a white wrap around porch. I see a man sitting in a rocker on the porch and he looks to be laughing. Through my open window I hear “papa papa” coming from two small voices. “Welcome home baby girl” mom says.
