“No way! You have got to be joking.” Sam said in disbelief. Her parents had just told her who they had arranged for her to marry and she could swear they had lost their minds. The new alpha, Conner. He was a jerk in every sense of the word. Sam hated him from the many times in school that he bullied her. Her had slapped her, punched her, and ripped her shirt of in front of the entire school just last week. What were they thinking? “Yes. The deal has been made and paperwork has been signed. It will happen in four months right after Conner become alpha, you will be our luna.” her dad answered proudly. Sam sat there in shock. She didn’t know what to say. “Dear just take some time to think it over. Honestly I wasn’t pleased with the choice my father made for me but you learn to love that person over time.” Sam’s mom answer smiling at her dad. “No mom. I wont do this. And you got lucky your dad cared about how you felt and what you thought. He didn’t pick a pompous jack ass who only thinks with his dick.” Sam replied getting angry. “Watch your mouth young lady. You will not talk like that in my house.” Her dad roared. Sam just sat there what was up with these two. Normally they would let her complain and curse until she just got over it, but now she had to accept it even if she wanted to complain first. She got out of her chair and went to the door. “This is a great power move dad. You always said our family name will return to glory. You blamed great grandfather for the fall and that fine. That’s your burden to bear but to marry your only daughter to someone she can’t stand, that’s low even for you. But I guess this will make you beta so you don’t give a rats ass how any one else feels about it. Its all about you always has been.” Sam said as calmly as she could before she slammed the door and ran to her room. Her parents left her alone until diner witch surprised her. The way they were acting they should have followed her. But when her mom called her down to dinner she was still mad and it got worse when she rounded the corner to see Conner sitting at the table. “Why is he here?!” she half squealed half yelled. What the hell? “I invited him so you two could have a chance to get to know each other before you wed. For the next four months Conner will come to dinner once a week so that you two can at least know a little bit about each other.” He dad said giving her a scolding look over his glasses. “I’ll just take my dinner to my room then.” Sam said reaching for her plate. “You will not. You will not be rude to our guest. You will sit at this table and enjoy your meal. NOW!” Sam’s father yelled at her. Sam just stood there she refused to dine with a pig. She hated Conner and her parents for this. She needed time and her parents were not going to give it to her so she would just have to take it herself. Before her father could grab her and force her to sit down she ran for the door. Once she was outside she let her wolf free and just ran until she couldn’t run anymore. She stayed in the woods with her wolf all night and most of the next day. She still could not bring herself to understand. Her mom knew what Conner had done. The many times that he had harassed and tortured her. He had been since they were five. She remembered that day all to well. She was on the play ground playing on the swing when he and some of his friends come out of no where and pushed her off the swing into the dirt and kicked her before running away laughing saying that her family was why all wolfs were cursed. She didn’t know what they were talking about so later that night when her dad had gone to his study she asked her mom “Why did they say it was our fault that wolfs were cursed?” “Well dear about a hundred years ago your dads great-grandfather claimed he had found his mate. He claimed it was the vampire queen at the time, so he married her and forced an alliance between wolfs and vampires, but two years later she found out that his real mate was her servant, and that he had lied so she went to a witch. When she told the witch what he had done, the witch as so enraged that she placed a curse on all were-wolfs so that none of us may ever find our true mate. And that’s why we arrange marriages now days.” her mom replied looking at her sadly. The next day when Sam went back to school she was sure to avoid Conner and his friends but they chased her and pushed her in the mud. This has gone on every day since then and Sam had just turned eighteen. Conner’s gift to her on her birthday was to lift her shirt up in the gym during a pep rally showing the whole school her undergarment. Sam pulled herself out of her thoughts and decided to return home. She would stay one or two more nights just enough time for her to gather supplies then she would run and never look back. She decided to take a shortcut through town. She knew that there were vampires there but it was neutral land they couldn’t do anything to her. As she walked down main street and looked at all the things through the glass windows she kept thinking how dare her parents force her to this. As she kept walking her heart beat got faster. That wasn’t normal she was in shape she could run for miles even without her wolf. “Mate! Mate! Mate is over there! Mate!” he wolf yelled in her head. What the hell she must really be loosing it. Wolfs were cursed, it just couldn’t be true. Yet as she kept walking away her wolf got louder and she started to feel sick. So she turned around and followed where her wolf told her to go. “Oh hell no. Have you lost it all? This is a vampire den!” Sam said to her wolf, “besides wolfs don’t, can’t ever find our mates. What is wrong with you.” “You keep talking to yourself and every one will know you have lost your shit.” A heavenly male voice answered from behind her. She turned to see the vampire prince, Chance, standing there leaded against the wall. “What do you care?” Sam asked as she stared to walk away. “Because I felt it to. Your meant to be mine.” Chance answered. “Well it can’t be true. Wolfs can’t find their mates because of your ancestors. I need to go bye now.” she said flipping him off as she turned to walk away. She may be mad at her parents but she still loved them and they had to be worried. “But vampires do find the other half to our souls and Samantha Renee Coalition, you are mine. That curse was put on wolf to wolf not wolf to vampire this isn’t the first time this has happened. Please just come sit down have a drink with me.” Chance answered with a smile on his face. “No I really have to get home. I have to talk to my parents.” Sam said continuing to walk. “Oh good we can tell them together.” Chance replied grabbing her and pushing her against the wall, “Now that I have your full attention let me make myself clear, my soul is telling me you are the one. Now I don’t want to force you into anything but I am asking you to at lease think about it. You don’t have to marry that Conner, d**k. All I have to do is tell my parents they will put a stop to it. And you could be luna over everything not just the wolfs. We can take it slow date maybe but I will let you know it it will be hard to say no to me cause I will try everything.” Sam couldn’t help it she grabbed his shirt collar and kissed him. She was more than excited when he kissed back. Her body responded in ways she never knew it could. This can’t be real. He has to be using his mind control to play with us. Run, run now! Her brain told her. Before he could make a grab for her she took off just like last night. It had to be fake. There was no way she was that lucky. Chance was the sexy man she had ever laid her eyes on with his dark blue eyes, short cropped black hair, and slight muscle build. Nothing special so why was she so turned on by just his kiss. It had to have been some sort of trick. She just couldn’t believe it and her parents sure wouldn’t either. She would just continue with her plan to run away. She would be gone by time Conner even had a chance to try to kiss her. When she arrived back home there was a black S.U.V. that she didn’t recognize in the driveway but she didn’t think anything off it. She went inside wondering what her punishment would be. “I’m sure of it sir. I wouldn’t lie about a thing like this.” Sam heard a voice say. It was coming from her fathers office. She opened the door and couldn’t believe who she saw sitting in the same chair she sat in the night her father told her of his plans for her to wed Conner.
