“I am your fiancée” Amary was heaving and tangled on my arms as I informed her of her father and I’s agreement last night,

“What?” she pushed me,

“Your father entrusted me to you last night, he asked me to marry you within a hundred days but the turn of events last night were too unexpected and I am sorry to tell you this at this point of time Amary” I said as I told her while I comfort her,

“If my father trusts you then I have no reason to disobey, those were his last words he told me to trust you” her tears wouldn’t stop, her eyes so sore, I pity her,

The things that happened last night were expected by me, but I didn’t know they would target Mr. Anthur, because that would’ve been too discern.

I fixed her hair as I grabbed a tissue as well, “I know you do not know me very well but we will talk once we go to your house were I am sure it is a safe place. The death of your father was nothing as everyone anticipates and I was too shocked myself but you have to be strong, you have lots enemies around you and I will clarify details to you once we’re in a secured place.” She nodded to me, as she still cried on my shoulder,

Later that day we proceed to her house after she signed papers in the hospital for her and for her father.

A bricked wall mansion that caused me to be in awe,

“This is a nice house Amary” I said as I observed the details,

“It is, my mother and my father lived here ever since they got married, built with finest materials.” She said as she ran her hands along the walls,

“It’s empty now” she said, I saw her take a deep breath,

“It isn’t,” I said, she looked at me and smiled,

“You’re a total stranger to me but there’s a reason why my father entrusted me to you” she said,

“I am a trained person like you but it was just because of my pure interest, I am good at the sports you play as well which are included in the modern pentathlon, I have skills in mixed martial arts, and I am not your typical business man” I said, I still had to hide my identity to her,

“Which is why I think he chose me, but he left me a note that he said only you can answer.” I said, she looked at me as we reached the stairs, she looked at me with her eyes still sore from the tears but with a mixture of curiosity.

“What note did he told you?” she said, she placed her right hand to her left chest,

“Pharmakeia” I said, of course I already know all this but I have to pretend I know of nothing, not a single thing about their shady underground business,

“He did?” she asked, her eyes widened,

“He said, I am smart enough but you have to educate me. That’s what he said, he asked me marry you but I declined for you do not know me” I said and as much as I know we are only acquaintances in business.” I added,

“I don’t know why my father chose you but, he has given the both of us a hundred days to know each other. James, I hope your mind is ready but please rest as well. I will give you the room opposite to mine, come” she said, I took a deep breath as she gracefully made her way up the grand stairs, she led me to the west wing of the mansion.

She rang a bell placed outside her door, she waited for about three minutes when tree maids approached us, all in uniforms,

“Bring Mr. Linden food and you are to clean my father’s room keep it as it is every month. Mr. Linden is my fiancée, you are to add him as your master.” They all looked at her with sadness they looked at me and made a courtesy,

Damn this household makes you feel like a real royalty, I mean we’re rich too but my mother doesn’t like stuff like this, she likes moving around the house,

“Yes madam, we shall do so. We are in great sadness for your father’s passing.” They said as their faces trapped to the marbled floor of the mansion,

“Thank you, you are dismissed.”

“How about you, food?” I asked worriedly,

“No, they only do what you order them to do, they are trained not to talk too much and meddle. They are expected to respond as how their masters require them to” I nodded as she seems like she built a gigantic wall around her,

“I’ll see you later, rest” she said, she closed her door enough for me to feel the coldness of the place.

“Damn, she’s scary” Levi said,

“She does scare me but she does makes me feel sorry for her, contact the heads for the turn of events, they are probably aware of it but they will be greatly happy to know that I have entered the mansion and had a closer chance of encounter with Amary. You know what to do Levi” I said as I entered the room she gave me,

It smelled like Amarys, I guess her mother really loved Amarys, I looked around and it seemed normal.

“That house is f*****g elegant and James, good job on entering hell” Levi commented as I roamed around, I checked the drawers and closets but it’s empty.

Suddenly there was a knock in my door, one maid carrying my suitcase, thankfully it was unopened,

“Sir, the hotel delivered your materials they said they are sorry to have intruded your room but it was Ms. Amary’s order” I gave her a faint smile,

“No problem, thank you for delivering it to me.” I grabbed it and placed my items on the closet, leaving my gun on the secret pocket of my luggage.

“Be careful, we cannot accompany you there. For now you better pretend to rest” Levi said,

“I’ll do that, men you have to learn more about this mansion, we only observed this from afar, thanks” – I removed the lens from my eyes and so I can take a shower, Anthur’s death was really not from my expectations, I have overlooked the situation, I made a mistake,

“Got that” he said,

After my shower I changed into comfortable clothes, surprisingly the house felt homey as if I have already been in this place,

What made them go into such shady business despite the success of their company?

I stayed in bed and rested, I woke up at around 9 in the evening already.

I got up and decided to knock on Amary’s door, “Come in” she said,

So I did, she was wearing a dirty pink night dress and her long red hair showed its original waves, it was beautiful,

“Do you need anything?” she asked,

“I just wanted to ask, how are you? and ask if you already had dinner” I replied,

“Nothing will happen if I will cry and cry, my father brought me up to be strong. I still feel the pain. We’ll be going to the wake of my father tomorrow morning, he will have his funeral rites in two days,-he doesn’t want to be seen dead for too long” she said as she removed her earrings,

“I understand,” I said, I sat down on the couch beside her bed as I looked out the tall trees where I used to hide looks so calming,

“You just woke up I guess” she said, she came closer to me and brushed my hair with her fingernails, as she comes closer I believed she has nothing beneath the night dress she’s wearing,

Goodness, my heart started to beat heavily as this glorious red head lady comes closer, her incredibly pinks lips so inviting,

“I’m not your typical lady Mr. Linden,” I know,

“I think I can handle rare” I replied, she smirked, she sat on top of me showing her well shaved sweetness,

“I believe I am not your typical man too, Amary,” I said, as I held my horses carried her as her deep green eyes stare at me and laid her to bed, as her beautiful hair spreads on the white bedsheet as if it was blood on snow,

“Your brown eyes, your tanned skin, you sand-blond hair, you look like cigarette to me.” She said, too ironic,

Thank God I removed my earpiece before I went here or the boys will probably here me flirting with a girl whose father just died. Don’t blame me, she started testing me.

“Cigarette, what a satirical thing to compare me to, are you going to throw me once you’re done?” I asked, she smirked at me,

“I guess, you’re one good playboy James.” She said,

“We have a hundred days to fall in love James,” she added as she ran her index finger to the boundaries of my face.

“You have to learn how to love me” she said as she looked a bit away, as if she was difficult to love, my eyes observing all her facial reactions,

“I guess I have to save Ms. Bad girl” I said, as I suddenly got the urge to give her a kiss on the forehead. She chuckled,

“You’ll never know how bad I am” she said, she suddenly got up making my body jerk up and fall on the bed, now she’s on top of me,

“You will know in two days, but for now let’s eat” she said, I chuckled at her obnoxiousness as she eyed for my d**k, damn it, she stood up and wore a robe,

“I guess two heads are hungry in your case” she teased, I rolled my eyes, she used the phone and called for food to be served to her room.

I saw her lit a cigar, my brows met for I hate people who smokes,

“What?” she asked,

“You seriously smoke?” I asked,

“I do, why?” after that she brought out a brandy from her table lamp’s closet, goodness

“Are you serious right now?” I asked, I stood up and grabbed the brandy from her hands but she was quick to avoid me and drank directly from the bottle,

“Amary Anthur.” I said, in a quite dominating voice,

“Please stop this insanity” I added, I grabbed the bottle from her hands. “This comes back to here, you can only drink if you eat” I said, seriously sincere,

She licked her lips, “No wonder my daddy chose you, you’re like him.” She commented in defeat as she then inhaled with a cigar on her mouth,

“This cannot go” pertaining to the cigar on her hands, the bell outside her room snappishly rang as she smiled at me, she walked to the door,

“Mr. James is not in his . . .” the maids paused as they saw me,

“Girls, thank you for serving us dinner. Please make sure that Caleb had his dinner as well” she watched the maids arrange the food as the two maids kept on glancing at me, once they were done the maids went out and Amary sat down on the table chair,

“Ughhm, Mr.? Come and eat?” she told me as I quickly nodded and stood up to the table chair on her room

“Your room feels more like a hotel room” I commented, she chuckled,

“Mashed potato?” she asked,

“Yup sure, thanks” she’s smiling, she’s a great pretender, I can see how sad she is but she doesn’t show,

She then placed beef on my plate, “Sorry, we’re used to this kind, we don’t really like plates here, like you know for appetizer and stuff we just eat what we want” well that’s bizarre,

“I didn’t expect that, everything is so formal looking here as if a royalty lives here” I commented as I sliced the steak, I saw her struggling so I switched my plate to hers,

“Well, someone does, I do” she said mockingly with an eye roll.

“In two days, I hope your brain is ready enough to handle whatever I reign from.” I took a deep breath because I have never seen where they make and manufacture their drugs, I pretended to be startled,

“I can never give up, I believe I have to be ready. Your father entrusted me to you and I believe that’s trusting your business with me as well” I replied as I sipped from the wine,

There was knock on the door,

“Amary” It’s a guy

“It’s Caleb” she said excitedly, boyfriend?

“Amary” the Caleb said, I stood up in order to be noticed,

“Is this the guy?” Do I look like just a regular guy? I felt as if he was belittling me,

“Caleb, its James. Daddy asked me to marry him in a hundred days. Those were his final words” she said, as if she was quite afraid of the guy,

“James, this is Caleb. My personal guard and my childhood friend.” Caleb approached me for a handshake.

“It’s nice to finally meet you,” we had a very manly handshake as he gripped my hands and so I gripped it back,

“I am expecting a lot from you,” he said, I smirked, “I guess so do I, you’re my fiancée’s body guard” I made him know his position, despite my original work is a spy of the government I am still a stock holder in our business and I have the second biggest next to my brother,

“Have you told him about, Pharmakeia?” he asked to Amary,

“No, in time. After my father’s burial we will” she said to Caleb,

“You are dismissed Caleb” she said, Caleb looked defeated, he looked at me, before exiting,

“Yes, please continue your dinner” he said as he closed the door his gaze never left mine,

“Intimidating guard you have there” I commented,

“He has to be” we both sat down and continued eating, upon finishing we went to her balcony, the bright moon and dim lights of the mansion enlightens Amary’s red hair,

She sat on the balcony’s fence, almost giving me a heart attack.

“James,” she said,

“I’m sorry to ask but you’re father’s dead right?” she asked,

“Yeah, he died from a gunshot too when I was like 10” I responded,

“My mom died when I was 15, she died of cancer” she replied sadly as she starred at the big bright moon, “I-I’m sorry” I mumbled, she shrugged her head,

“What’s your father like?” she asked,

“He’s smart, enemy of a lot of people I believe, he’s a man I can never be” I responded as I sat next to her joining her as we both looked at the moon,

“You know we’re the same, I believe I can never be like my mom. Unlike me, she’s graceful, she’s elegant, she’s the ideal woman, she never held a gun, and she’s like a total wow” she said wholeheartedly,

I guess she isn’t as strong as how her red hair is,

“But you know, we’re not meant to be anyone else, we’re meant to be us, so if you are like this it means you are meant to be you, like this” I said, she smirked as she lit another cigar,

“Can you limit your cigar?” I asked,

“You smoked weed before?” she asked, I choked, almost fell from being seated,

“I did, back when I was in college or when I’m travelling in a state where weeds are actually legal” I said, she smiled at me, her pearl white teeth made me intensely attracted to her, damn it,

It was like the dancing trees behind her came into slow motion, the leaves that were cradled by the wind added to scenery,

“You’re very beautiful Amary” words slid out of my mouth,

“T-thanks. So you said we have the same interest, why did you learn intense self-defense?” she asked trying to avoid my compliment I guess,

“Since my father was shot, I pledged that I’d protect my mother with all my might. I’m not the direct heir of our business, it’s my older brother, and I learned those in order to have greater purpose.” I responded remembering how I pledged my life to my mother upon my father’s burial.

“That’s very brave of you, I on the other hand learned because of our business and you’ll know soon” I said, I already know

“Just please be ready, so I wouldn’t have to take the life out of the guy my father entrusted me to” she said, damn, she was scary, I mean she does have that dominating character,
