Mr Richard,is an average business man,who believe so much in exploring new opportunities and remaining consistent even at that.He lost his wife Mrs Roseline to a terminal illness (advanced cancer) in 2009, leaving Mira and her younger brother Jonas for Mr Richard to care for. He hired ms Elizabeth,a woman in her late thirties,to be their nanny until they become of age, and when they grew up,she is couldn't leave because she was so attached to them and because of that,she decided to stay permanently and asked Mr Richard to stop paying her because she now see herself as a part of the family,ms Elizabeth do go home to her family from time to time and come back whenever she feels like.Mira and Jonas are so attached to her,most people that didn't meet Mrs Roseline alive do mistake ms Elizabeth to be their biological mother. Mira a girl of 24 years old,5’7 fits tall, endowed with a blonde hair,she has a cat eyes and her favourite pet is dog, which was why she adopted Lina when she saw him stranded by the road side one cold evening,she stepped out with ms Elizabeth to the grocery shop to get ketchup for the pancakes Mira wanted to have for dinner. Her favourite person is Kenneth,a boy in his late twenties,broad shoulder,fair with a blonde hair,has a contagious smile,her boyfriend,from a poor background,they met in collage and he was her prom during graduation,they started dating afterwards, unknown to Mira's father Mr Richard. Kenneth is a handyman that works at a coffee store to support his little handy jobs. He is the first son in a family of 3,his mum has dementia and he is the only one taking care of his family since his father died. Kenneth loves Mira because he sees her as his escape route from poverty and unending suffering,but he shows Mira all the affection and attention she needs, though they get to see once in a blue moon.Mira is so much in love with Kenneth that she is ready to start up a family with him by asking him to get her pregnant,so she can move out of her father's house, because she always feels caged at home,and her father makes all the decisions for her.Mira crochet clothes and bags, ms Elizabeth helps her to sell them, Mr Richard collects the money from ms Elizabeth who helps her to supply to some of her online audience,ms Elizabeth assist her since it's her own little way of supporting her business since she can't talk her father into permitting her to go sell them herself,she gives the money to her father after each sales,he divides it and gives her 50% of the money,it was the agreement she had with him before she was allowed to proceed with her work, since she is not permitted to leave the house. Ms Elizabeth assist her to get the materials she needs for her work,mira have asked Ms Elizabeth on several occasions if she will agree to marry her father incase he finds her attractive and proposes marriage to her,she always blush at the sound of that “propose”because that has been her prayer point because she was above manopouse,and she keeps hoping that someday,Mr Richard will see her in such context, since she can't see herself loving another man and abandoning Mira and Jonas whom she now see as her own children. CHAPTER TWO: Like my life depends on it….. Kenneth at his work place, called Mira to know how she slept,” hi baby,how are you doing, I was about to call you before your call came in,it's a horrible morning from my end sweetheart, how are you? “I'm fine honey, trust you slept well?Mira hissed and said,my love I'm just here on my bed thinking of how all of this will end someday,baby don't you think we should make our relationship open to my dad,he needs to know we are together so he can at least treat you well whenever you come around to trim our flowers? I really don't like that both of you don't chit chat sometimes” Kenneth smiled and comported himself while clearing his voice and adjusting on his seat, baby let's take it slow and steady,one step at a time, let's focus on getting him to allow you leave the house alone sometimes, you are not a child anymore to be caged at home and be under the watch of your nanny every time you step out. Mira frowned” yes baby I even wanted to talk to him about it again today but it seems he just stepped out because he left my room not quite long,he came to check up on me. Baby do you know that one of my customers rejected the bag I crocheted for her last week? after all the work I put into bringing that bag to perfection,sighs’ sometimes this work can be frustrating, Kenneth said to mira,I have told you to stop crocheting for people, since you love it so much, you can just crochet for yourself because to the best of my knowledge, you have everything at your beck and call,you don't lack anything but you still choose to be going through all the hassle and the insults that comes with it, rolls his eyes and murmurs,babe did you say something,Mira inquired, no love,I was talking to my colleague.We will talk later baby, just take care of that cute body for me okay,Mira blushed and said, it's all yours baby, take care,I love you,but Kenneth had hung up before she finished talking,Mira yawned and rolled out of the bed,oh it's 10:00am already? lazy me,I will just take a shower and go get something to eat,am starving gosh. A knock came at the door,who is it?Mira inquired, it's your little baby, came Jonas voice,come in, bunch of trouble, Mira said rolling her eyes, Jonas came in all sweaty and agitated,good morning Mira,are you alright?I haven't seen or heard from you since morning,are you okay,I'm fine baby brother, just go to your room and freshen up, I will meet you downstairs let me put my room in other and take care of Lina okay?run along. Good morning Ms Elizabeth, trust you slept well, all hail her majesty with a bow,ms Elizabeth jokingly greeted Mira with a beaming smile,common please stop alright,I'm not in the mood for jokes,I'm having a terrible mood swing,Mira said rolling her eyes,oh mood swing? Said Ms Elizabeth, would you want to talk about what might be troubling you baby?I'm wasting in this house and I want to discover myself but I can't obviously do that by being caged in this house like a little puppy ms lizz as they foundly call her,my love, you don't and won't achieve anything by getting worried all day long,it will only stress you out and make you have wrinkles and turn you into a grumpy old woman before you know it, laughing out loud,stop the jokes ms lizz am dead serious,I'm tired of dad always policing me around, I should go out there and mingle with people,do you know that all of this has made me to develop a very unhealthy inferiority complex and it's making me sick, I can't properly hold a conversation with people because of my lack of self esteem and my dad can't even see that,he keeps saying when you are of age, you will appreciate all am doing for you now but 24 years old for Christ sake, what does he mean by that? maybe I will grow gray hairs in this house before he will know that in now a full grown woman and not a baby anymore. Calm down Mira,stop getting yourself all worked up sweetheart, your dad wants the best for you, trust me, just be patient with him okay,can I serve your breakfast now baby, inquired Ms Elizabeth,I'm not hungry please, I'm pissed off right now, why do I feel you are supporting dad in all of this?of course you know I can't do that baby,I will always support you but you know in this situation I don't have a say, your dad always does whatever he feels is best for you guys and am sorry if I have ever made you feel that way, just come have your breakfast, I will talk to your dad about it when he gets back okay, you will?of course I will do everything that will make my princess happy, Mira smiled while hugging Ms lizz I can't wait to call you mum,I also need to talk to Mr Richard about you,Ms Elizabeth detached herself from the hug and stared at Mira for a while,I doubt if he feels anything for me, don't worry about that,he definitely feels something for you but you know he won't show it because he is always trying to be a strong man,Mira said picking apple from a tray in the dining table.
