Gabe’s mom flitted towards Gabe and me. I moved closer to Gabe and slowly wrapped my arms around him. I looked up to her as she stopped in front of me.
“That we died, dear?” Gabe’s mom said as she smiled down at me, “Of course we did.”
I gulped and could not help myself from looking down at her floating feet. My breathing started to become quick.
“I’m sorry,” Gabe’s mom said. She probably heard my loud gasps. She landed her feet on the floor and tilted her head to her left, “I’m Annabelle.”
“I’m Emerald,” I put out my hand nervously. I was not sure how to handle this kind of situation. How to act around your in-laws?
