The night of revenge
"Alpha Max, everything is set for tonight," Beta Leo informed him.
Alpha Max nodded, a devilish smirk spreading across his face.
Finally. After years of searching, he had located the witches.
"Nothing must go wrong tonight," he said, his voice cold with authority.
"Yes, Alpha," Leo replied, bowing his head. "Our soldiers are stationed around their territory. Once you give the signal, they will attack."
"Very good," Max replied. "No one makes a move until I arrive."
"Yes, Alpha Max."
Beta Leo left hurriedly to ensure everything was ready.
Alpha Max was anxious. He had waited for this moment for years. He would make them pay for the hell they put him through. For all the pain they inflicted. He would make them pay back a hundredfold.
Maxim is the Alpha of the Demon Wolves Pack. Feared by everyone.
But it wasn't always like that.
In a world of vampires, witches, and werewolves, the weak are always trampled upon. Only the strong can protect themselves and the people they love.
Max learned that at a very early age.
His late mother, Melissa, was once the Luna of the Blue River Pack. She died trying to save his life.
He was an outcast in the supernatural world. A monster.
They called him... the demon child.
Melissa gave birth to Max a year after her late husband, Alpha Edward, died. No one knew who his father was. So he was called a bastard.
But that wasn't all.
There was a prophecy — a monster would be born in the form of a wolf. He would destroy them all.
Everyone feared this monster. Every pregnant woman became a suspect. Witches were summoned to locate the demon child... and they pointed at him.
He was just a child. He had no idea what was going on.
They tried to kill him.
Melissa was a powerful Luna. She could have taken on a dozen werewolves on her own. But she had to think of her child. So the best option was to flee.
As a former Luna who had fought many battles, she knew how to hide from witches and werewolves.
Melissa managed to escape and went into hiding for years. They lived a normal life among humans for eight years.
Then the witches found them.
They killed his mother and took him away.
He was locked in a cage like an animal, waiting to be killed.
The werewolves wanted him dead immediately. But the witches said they needed to perform sacrifices before killing him.
Max was only eight years old. He had just lost his mother, and they were talking about taking his life like he was nothing.
He was scared. Lonely. He cried until he couldn't cry anymore. He was weak — locked up for three days with no food.
Max curled up on the floor of the cold cell, accepting his fate.
Then he heard her.
"Hey! Are you alright?"
A little girl's voice, full of concern.
Max stared at her blankly. He had lost all hope in life. But then he saw her — like a bright moon appearing in a dark, starless night. He saw light in the darkest corner of his life.
"Hey! Can you hear me? Are you alright?" She batted her eyes, waving her little hands in front of his face.
_Is she an angel?_ That would explain why she was shining so brightly.
He tried to stand. He was very weak. His legs were shaking. He held onto the iron bars to steady himself.
"Are you hungry?" the little girl asked, handing him the apple pie in her hand.
Max took it eagerly, like his life depended on it. He shoved the pie into his mouth, chewing quickly. He feared someone might snatch it away if he didn't eat fast.
"Take it easy," the little girl advised. "You're going to choke."
Then they heard footsteps.
They both panicked. The little girl's eyes widened with worry.
"Someone is coming," she whispered, running to the far corner to hide.
He didn't know who she was to these evil people, or why she came to help him. But from her worried look, he could tell she would be in serious trouble if they found her there.
Max quickly turned his back to the intruder and lay down on the cold floor, so they wouldn't see him eating.
