Drake eased back from the desk in his cabin, his back complaining about having been in one position for so long. He stretched it out then rubbed at his temples, trying to ease the headache there. He checked the time. No wonder he had a headache, he’d been sitting there for nearly two hours, getting down every detail he could about his meeting with the Phoenix Conglomerate agent. The first thing he’d done was name her. It was hardly original but he’d settled on Siren — she’d certainly been dressed to draw attention when he first met her, though being drugged into immobility had taken the edge off that.
