CHAPTER SEVENTEEN Once they were outside, Justin made a suggestion, “Head to the main square, shall we?” Trudy sort of smiled, nodded and took Megan by the hand. She hung back, letting Justin lead the way. ‘Aww, she’s smiling at me again,’ he noticed. ‘She definitely likes me.’ He was feeling smug. ‘She likes me a lot,’ he modified his original assumption. It only took a couple of minutes of navigating the crowded narrow streets, and they were delivered into the wide-open space of the bustling giant square. The scent of garlic and the aromatic smoke of wood burners wafted from tightly packed food stalls across rows of diners seated on hard wooden benches. It was kind of authentic but extremely touristy.
