“Help!” I shouted as I shook my mother’s unconscious body with shaky hands. Everything that happened afterwards was a blur. Garret, one of the security staff, was now helping me to carry her into her car after fumbling with the car keys, my hands trembling so bad I almost dropped them. The other staff hovered over us but he told them to stay back. I couldn’t hear what they were all saying. I was losing it. The drive to the hospital felt like a nightmare I couldn’t wake up from.
