As I said those words, I felt his body stiffen under my hold. But Jeremy said nothing. The next thing I knew, his bike skidded to a halt in the middle of nowhere. I gasped at the sudden stop, thinking it was a malfunction.
But when he just sat there, chest rising and falling sharply, I realized he had stopped on his own. His body was vibrating under my hands…like he was shaking.
I slowly released my grip on him. “Are you… okay?”
“Hop off” He blurted with a sharp breath that scared me.
“What?” I was confused.
“Hop off, Teyana.” His tone sounded clipped and alarming , so I yielded. He climbed off after me, then rushed ahead to the middle of the lone road, hunching forward. I couldn’t see what was going on with him clearly from where I stood. But it didn’t look good.
