Blurb

It all started with her love of roses... he was captivated by her smile that were as beautiful as the roses she likes to smell everyday.

Chapter 1
The faint glow of the welcoming Tuesday morning sun welcomed May as she went out the streets. She's a morning person, sure. Really, she likes mornings and sunlight and waking up and preparing for work and her tea and everything a new day indicates. Mornings mean a new start, and she always looks forward to it. Positive. Optimistic. New and fresh. That's how she wants life to be. Except, well, that's only wishful thinking.     New York City. You think she's living a good life. Heck no! Her shabby flat could tell the tale. She works as a waitress in a diner downtown. Living alone and always struggling to make ends meet. But still as optimistic as anyone can get. That’s May Carter.      Everyday, on her way to the diner for her 8:00 am shift, she stops by a certain place. Placed rather oddly on a street where fancy stores and company buildings are left and right, a flower shop is located. Aunt Kin’s Flowers the signage says.      It has been part of May’s morning routine to go to the flower shop. Just to greet the kind old woman, ‘Good morning’. And to have a smell of her favorite roses. This is also one of the things she looks forward to every morning.      “Good morning Mrs. Fisher!” She hollered at the owner.     “Good morning to you too, May.” Answered the old lady. “Go ahead and sniff that roses to your heart’s content, dear.”      “Thank you Mrs. Fisher, I already did. Now i’m off to work. Have a great day!”     “You too, sweetheart!”     May is grateful that the owner allows her to smell the roses everyday. Her roses were always placed near the shop's doors so she did not need to go further in the shop to have her fill. Well, since she moved to New York three years ago and found the lovely flower shop, she would go there everyday before work. Mrs. Fisher never stopped her from doing so. What a lovely lady.     She bid her goodbye and started to walk. Ah. New York. Always busy. She always finds it fascinating how this city has so many people, yet, even with the most optimistic mindset, she always feels alone.
