Kashmir looked at me like he had seen a ghost with his mouth wide open. It was really an amusing sight to watch the bad boy speechless for the first time. I smirked at this reaction and shook him gently. He then blinked his eyes, shaked his body and looked at me wanting to ask all the questions at one go like in the Annual Event of Quizzes.
"I, uh, oh my God. Aisha, do you even realize that if anyone found out about your daily escapes then the next one on the guillotine, would be you."
I rolled my eyes at his comment. For 9 years I have been doing kick boxing secretly and for 5 with men who didn't really care about who they were fighting with, since I had always kept my hair short and bruises adorned my face due to which they never found out that I was a girl.
"I know that, Kashmir and tell you something, I don't care a damn about that. Fighting helps me to keep up with my money problems and I am not ready to give that up for some stupid laws of the government."
Kashmir gulped. I could see his Adam's apple bob up and down with fear of knowing a girl who had disregarded the law of the land. And to be sure, even he was in big trouble for keeping this information with himself. I gave out a sarcastic laugh and said,
"You know what Kashmir, why don't you just go and tell the truth about me to the leader? You will be rewarded appropriately and also get rid of a weirdo like me. Anyways you have always hated me. It is a win-win situation for you. What are you waiting for, just go and do it. "
I turned my head away from him. I couldn't afford the fact that no person was good enough to actually be nice to the other gender. I heard a low chuckle in my right ear. I turned to face him. He looked me in the eye and said,
"Aisha, first of all, I definitely am not telling anyone about this side of you. Second, I like to win the fair way. So, the day I defeat you fair and square would be the day I will realize that you are actually a very good guy. "
I laughed at that statement. I always found Kashmir amusing. He never failed to make me laugh.
"Okay, my defeat makes me a good guy and your defeat makes me a bad guy?"
"Yup."
I wishpered slowly, "Then I'll tell you this that being a good guy never existed in my blood. I'll be the bad guy for the rest of my life and live life my way with my terms and conditions rather than being the good guy and just breathing according to the government. "
Kashmir smiled at me for this and said,"That's why I knew that we'll make an amazing team, you know."
I laughed out loud. He was an awesome companion. He offered me his fist and I bumped mine with his.
"So, friends?"
I nodded and shook my hand with him.

I bunked the next two classes on the Medic pretext and went straight to the lunch hall. When I entered the lunch hall, the sight was something that I was not prepared to see.
Rosie and my other friends, Julia Peeps and Alice Hazeltree, were sitting with Catalina and her cronies giving me a smug look. I understood that this was bound to happen sooner than later.
"I think that you should not let what they think bother you anyhow, Aisha. You do know how Alice is, changing sides every now and then."
I turned my head to see Clare Hazeltree, my only best friend and a well wisher. I sometimes had insecurities take the better side of me due to her being Alice's cousin, but she also proved me wrong all times. Clare was a tall girl amongst most girls at 5'8 feet and I stood at a mere 5'0 feet. She was beautiful girl with fair skin, blonde hair and big baby blue eyes unlike me with a face full of bruises. I had a brownish skin, black hair and a very rare eye color, Amber, which hardly anyone in the country had anymore. When I had started to notice things around me and saw how different my eye color was, I started putting green contact lenses to blend in with the population. But if I didn't wear it then with the rage in my eyes, it would look as if I was on fire.
Catalina had spread weird stories about Clare that she hardly kept herself hygienic because she was practically living in poverty rather than her cousin, Alice, who was rolling in luxury. Alice never actually wanted to be known as being related to Clare in anyway, so she kept her distance and insinuated me to do the same.
"Aisha, are you listening?"
"Yup."
"Then what was I just telling you now?"
"How annoying your cousin is and how she is going to be the next Queen Bee."
"Aisha, seriously?"
I shrugged her off.
"You are worried about something."
She told me as we were walking back to the classes.
"How can you say that?"
"Well, to be honest then your eyes start to fire a little bit of flame, your eyebrows join together and you have started to sweat. "
I gave out a big sigh. I couldn't even do anything else. Clare looked at me earnestly. I gave in and told her everything that has been happening in my life till now. How I found out about the envelope and how my surname was not what it was supposed to be. I told her about me and Kashmir.
"Well to sum up, your life is pretty much a mess."
I couldn't agree more than that with her. Clare looked at me in the eye and said,
"Aisha, I think something is wrong. Something big is going to happen and you are an important part of that."
