In fact, I had just spoken to Mother the night before, and she told me that the last color scheme painted at the resort would just have to do, as guests were arriving for the Christmas season. Mother felt she could leave things in the capable hands of her new manager for a few days so she could deliver James back to Moose Willow, TV 13, and the choir. They would arrive sometime next week. This gave me only a few days to come up with an explanation for George’s disappearance. I would consider the truth—if I knew what it was.
