The morning light was weak as it came through the windows that were covered in frost. It was a light and it did not do much to stop the blizzard that was going on outside. Lila was the one to wake up. She was warm and cozy. Ethans arm was around her waist. His body was curled around hers. He was holding her like he was scared she would disappear.

Lila did not move. She just lay there. Thought about what had happened the night before. She thought about the kiss they had shared and how his hands had touched her skin. She thought about the branch that had fallen and how they had fixed the hole in the wall in the cold and dark. They had worked together like they used to when they were friends. Now Lilas body was feeling things it had not felt in a time.

Ethan. Made a low sound. His hand moved on her stomach. His fingers touched her bare skin. "Lila " he said in a voice that was rough from sleep. "You are still here."

Lila turned to face him. In the light of the morning Ethan looked like a man who had lived a hard life. He had hair at his temples and lines on his face. He had a jaw and stubble on his chin. Lila thought he looked more attractive because of these things.

"I am here " she said quietly. "I am trapped with the one man who knows how to hurt me."

Ethans eyes got sharper. She saw regret in them.. Then she saw something else. Desire. "I said I would not touch you again " he said. "Not until I deserved it.". Even as he said this his leg moved between hers and she felt his erection against her hip.

Lilas breath caught in her throat. She had wanted Ethan for a time. She cupped his face. Pulled him down to kiss her. This kiss was not like the one they had shared the night. It was slower and deeper.

Ethan got up. Went downstairs. Lila followed him. The living room looked bad. The patch they had made was holding,. There were new cracks in the beam. The snow was still. The wind was strong.

Ethan looked at the damage. His face got grim. "We have to reinforce it " he said. ". We do not have much material." He looked at Lila. His eyes were fierce. "I will not let it hurt you " he said. ". This storm is not going away. If the cabin fails we will be, in trouble."

A big shake went through the house then stopping him from talking. Dirt fell from the ceiling. The big beam made a noise saying it was going to fall down soon.

Ethan grabbed Lila pulling her to the kitchen where it was safer. He put his body in front of hers to protect her. "We have to move. Take what we can."

Lilas heart was beating fast. She knew being close to Ethan was not safe anymore. The way she felt about him the strong feelings they had, for each other could all be crushed under the snow and wood if they did not get out.. Since the road was still blocked nobody was coming to help them.

When another big crack sounded Ethan held Lilas hand tighter. "Stay with me Lila. We are not going to lose this chance we have again Ethan and Lila are not going to lose it."
