The creaking sound got louder. Started to sound really scary. It was like the floor was shaking beneath their feet. Lilas heart was beating fast against her ribs. Ethan jumped out of bed quickly. He still had his arm around her waist, which made her feel safe. He grabbed a flashlight from the nightstand. Turned it on. The light showed that there were cracks in the ceiling. They looked like lines and they were spreading out from the strong beam they had fixed earlier.
"Get dressed now " Ethan said. His voice was firm. It was not shaking. He sounded like he was in charge like he always did when things got tough. Lila got out of bed. Put on some warm clothes. The room was really cold. She could see her breath in the air. Ethan was already getting dressed too. He put on some jeans and a big warm shirt.
Ethan stopped for a second. Held Lilas face in his hands. His eyes were serious. He looked really worried. "You have to stay close to me " he said. "Do not try to be a hero. If I tell you to move you have to move away." Lila promised that she would do what he said. She was scared. She was also trying to be strong.
They went downstairs together. The wind was making a lot of noise outside. It was blowing snow into the room. The fire they had made earlier was still burning,. It was not very strong. Ethan looked at the beams. The foundation of the house. He said that the house was in shape. The roof was heavy with snow. The foundation was shifting. He explained that they had to add support to the house or it might collapse.
Lila said she would help him. She could hammer nails. Hold the light for him. Ethan told her what to do. They started working together. They worked hard for two hours. Ethan was lifting beams and putting them in place. Lila was holding the light. Passing him tools. They were touching each other a lot. It was making them both feel warm inside.
At one point Ethan told Lila to hold a brace in place. He was standing close to her and she could smell his sweat and the wood. It was making her feel dizzy. They talked a little while they worked. Lila asked Ethan why he had come back into her life. He said that he had never stopped loving her. He had been broken after his divorce and the death of his parents.. He had been watching her from afar and he had read all her stories. He said that her stories had kept him going.
Lila was touched by what Ethan said. She put down her tools. Hugged him. She said that all her stories were about them about the heroes and heroines who got a chance. Ethan hugged her back. They stood there for a moment. Then they went back to work.
After they finished they sat down in the kitchen. Ethan pulled Lila onto his lap. They wrapped themselves in a blanket. He was rubbing her back and legs trying to warm her up. Lila turned to him. Said that she needed him. She needed to feel alive to feel like their love was real. Ethan looked at her with love in his eyes. He said that he would always be there for her.
They started kissing. It was like the whole world had stopped. Ethans hands were over Lilas body touching her skin and making her feel warm. He took off her clothes. Then he took off his own. They were both naked. They were touching each other all over. Ethan was kissing her breasts and her neck and Lila was feeling like she was, in heaven. He put his fingers inside her. She was rocking back and forth feeling the pleasure build up inside her.
Lila wrapped her hands around Ethans length stroking him with twists and long glides. "I love how big you are " she whispered, her eyes getting heavy. "How hard you get for me."
" ever for you " Ethan said, his hips moving into her touch. He lifted her up. Put her on top of him then guided her down onto his c**k in one slow move. They both moaned at how good it felt. Ethan filled her completely. Every part of him touched her sensitive skin.
Ethan started moving in a rhythm his hands on her hips as he thrust up to meet her. "Feel me, Lila. Every inch. This is us. This is forever." It got harder and faster. The sounds of them together mixed with the storm outside. He kissed her messily one hand between them rubbing her c**t.
Lila rode him wildly her nails digging into his shoulders. "Harder, Ethan. I can take everything you give me. Love me. f**k me like you mean it."
Ethan lost control when she said that. He drove into her with moves pounding deep while saying sweet and dirty things to her. "You're such a girl for me. Your body is so tight around my c**k. I've been dreaming of being with you like this for eight years. You're mine. My love, my everything." His thumb pressed harder on her c**t. Lila came hard crying out his name as her body pulsed around him.
Ethan came too slamming up one time and holding her down as he spilled inside her. They stayed together breathing hard. He rolled them over so she was on his chest still connected his hands stroking her hair back and thighs in a way. He took care of her kissing her softly and whispering that he loved her.
"I love you " Ethan said, his voice rough with emotion. "The real kind of love. The kind that lasts through times and years apart. I'm never letting fear or guilt take you from me again. When this is over I'm going to fix up this cabin and make it our home. A place where you can write and I can build our future."
Lila got closer to him drawing patterns on his chest as happy tears fell. "I love you too Ethan Blackwood. My protector, my love. We'll make our happy ending real."
They talked for a time wrapped in blankets and each other. Ethan told her about his nights and how her books kept him going. Lila shared her dating struggles. How every romance she wrote was about him. Their talk brought them closer. Their love was a warm comfort against the cold outside.
Their peace did not last.
A loud ping came from upstairs. The generator died. Then there was silence, followed by cracks in the wall. Snow poured in. The foundation of the cabin groaned. The whole thing. The mountain shifted under the weight.
Ethan got tense wanting to protect Lila. "The cabin is failing fast. We might have to leave for the truck. Lets get supplies. Blankets, food and the emergency kit."
Lila nodded, holding onto him as they got dressed. Their love was stronger, than ever. They were determined to make it through.. As the cabin shook again sending dust and debris down Ethan pulled her close.
"We'll get through this together " he said. "I've waited eight years. I'm not losing you now."
The blizzard raged on outside. The mountain was going to test them. Their love, strong and fierce would. Save them or be lost with the cabin if they did not act fast.
