CHAPTER EIGHT
Returning to Earth was as easy as going to the Shadow Prison. We simply went back down to the bottom of the path, where Erastus opened a portal for us back to the streets of Accord. He even made sure that the portal led to the alleyways behind our apartment building, which meant that we didn’t need to walk very far to get back to my office. That was good because it was still fairly early in the morning when we got back to Earth and I didn’t want to be seen wandering the streets like some freak. In fact, according to my phone, we had only been off of Earth for less than a minute, though it felt more like fifteen or twenty minutes to me. I suppose that was just an example of the way time worked differently in the Shadow Prison than it did on Earth.
