Chapter 1:The plan
Lisabeth's POV
I stepped out of my small apartment, the crisp Roman air hitting me like a slap in the face. My name is Lisabeth Gillian, but my friends call me Beth. I'm a journalist, and I've been investigating the Italian mafia Lords, that's right Lords not one but two if not more for months. My life has been a mess lately. The constant fear of being watched, the pressure to meet deadlines, and the weight of my own expectations have taken a toll on me.
That aside I have a deadline to meet to get some juicy News for my Boss, Miss Nicole Edwardo.
PS I've got two sisters to take care of (twins actually, Alessia and Elena) one of which is kinda rebellious and stubborn, while the other has a fragile heart due to Cardiomyopathy, well, Dr. Nardi says she will be fine although there is no cure yet but we have to be careful with some news when sharing with her.
As much as Alessia has been rebellious, she never jokes with Elena, even if she never shows it I know deep down she adores and loves her sister and will do anything to protect her from anyone so my mind is always at peace leaving them together.
As I walked through the winding streets of Rome, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The city was beautiful, but it was also a hotbed of corruption and crime. I had a meeting with my friend Sofia Bianchi, a fellow journalist, to discuss our latest findings.
Sofia was already waiting for me at a quaint café in the heart of the city. She smiled as I approached, her dark hair gleaming in the sunlight. "Lisabeth, you're late," she teased, sipping her coffee.
"Sorry, traffic," I replied, taking a seat across from her. "So, what do we have so far?"
Sofia pulled out her notebook, flipping through the pages. "We've got some solid leads on Lucien Reeves' operations. It seems he's been expanding his reach, making deals with some of the city's most influential figures."
I nodded, my mind racing with possibilities. Lucien Reeves was a ruthless mafia lord, feared by everyone in Rome.
Sometimes I just can't help but wonder, the entirety of Rome, Italy can bring down that man but for some reason no one dares to, he moves freely because there is never any form of solid evidence against him, But I was determined to bring him down and I most definitely will.
*Meanwhile...*
*Lucien's POV*
I stood in front of the window, gazing out at the city below. I'm the king of Rome's underworld. I've worked hard to build my empire, and I'll stop at nothing to protect it.
"Lucien Reeves, why does a heartless Mafia Lord like you admire nature" My Buddy, Marcello Rossi said tapping my back.
"Marcello, we need to take care of Vincent Morano," I said, turning to my right-hand man. "He's been a thorn in our side for too long."
Marcello nodded, his expression grim. "I'll take care of it, Boss. But we need to be careful. Vincent has connections, and we don't want to spark a war."
I smiled, a cold smile. "I'm not afraid of war, Marcello. I'm afraid of losing. And Vincent Morano is a threat to everything I've built."
Marcello nodded, understanding. "What do you plan to do?"
"I plan to crush him," I replied, my voice low and deadly. "I'll show him what it means to cross Lucien Reeves."
As I spoke, I felt a sense of determination wash over me. I would do whatever it took to protect my empire, even if it meant destroying Vincent Murano.
*Vincent's POV*
I sat in my dimly lit office, surrounded by my most trusted men: Dante, Lorenzo, and Rocco. Detective Adriano, a man well-paid for his discretion, stood by the door, sipping his whiskey.
"Gentlemen, the time has come to take down Lucien Reeves," I announced, my voice low and calculated. "He's been a thorn in our side for far too long, and it's time we take back what's rightfully mine."
Dante leaned forward, his eyes gleaming with interest. "What's the plan, Vincent?"
I smiled, a cold, calculated smile. "We'll set him up. We'll make it look like he's involved in organ trafficking, something he's been accused of for years. But this time, we'll make sure the evidence is irrefutable."
Lorenzo raised an eyebrow. "And how do you plan to do that?"
I nodded to Rocco, who handed out folders containing the plan's details. "We'll arrange for a truckload of organs to be 'discovered' in one of Lucien's warehouses. The police will find it, and the press will have a field day. Lucien's reputation will be ruined, and he'll be the one behind bars."
Dante's eyes scanned the folder, a slow smile spreading across his face. "This is genius, Vincent. Lucien will never see it coming."
Detective Adriano spoke up, his voice smooth as silk. "I'll make sure the police are looking the other way when the 'discovery' is made. We'll plant the evidence, and it'll look like a routine bust gone wrong."
I leaned back in my chair, steepling my fingers. "And once Lucien is out of the way, we'll take over his... business. The women will come to us, and we'll supply them to the highest bidder."
The room fell silent, each man lost in his own thoughts. We all knew what was at stake: power, money, and control. And we were willing to do whatever it took to get it.
"Let's get to work, gentlemen," I said, my voice dripping with anticipation. "It's time to take down Lucien Reeves and claim the throne."
The men nodded, their faces set with determination. We were in this together, and together, we would bring Lucien down.
As we began to discuss the finer details of the plan, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. This was going to be a masterpiece, a work of art. And Lucien would not see this coming.
The game was on, and I was ready to play. Bring it on, Lucien. Bring. It. On
"Alright, so we've got the truckload of organs set up," Dante said, his voice low and even. "But what about the women? How do we plan to tie them to Lucien?"
I leaned forward, a smile spreading across my face. "That's the beauty of it. We'll use one of his own women against him. Someone who's been loyal to him for years, but has a... let's say, a price."
Lorenzo raised an eyebrow. "Who did you have in mind?"
I nodded to Rocco, who handed me a folder containing a photo of one of Lucien's most trusted escorts. "Her name is Sophia. She's been with Lucian for years, and she's one of his most popular girls. But she's also got a secret: she's deeply in debt. And with the right motivation, she'll do whatever we ask."
Detective Adriano nodded thoughtfully. "And what makes you think she'll cooperate?"
I smiled again, this time with a hint of cruelty. "Let's just say I've got a few... tricks up my sleeve. She'll do what we ask, or she'll face the consequences."
The room fell silent, each man lost in his own thoughts. We all knew what was at stake, and we were willing to do whatever it took to achieve our goal.
"Alright, so we've got Sophia on board," Dante said, his voice breaking the silence. "What's the plan for the actual setup?"
I leaned back in my chair, steepling my fingers. "We'll arrange for the truck to be 'discovered' in one of Lucien's warehouses. The police will find the organs, and the press will be all over it. Lucian's reputation will be ruined, and he'll be the one behind bars."
Lorenzo nodded, a look of admiration on his face. "You're a genius, Vincent. This is going to be perfect."
I smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction. This was going to be a masterpiece, a work of art. And Lucien would be the star of the show, unaware of the trap that was being set for him.
As we continued to discuss the finer details of the plan, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. This was going to be big, and I was going to enjoy every minute of it.
"Alright, let's get to work," I said, standing up. "We've got a lot to do before the big reveal."
The men nodded, standing up and beginning to file out of the room. As they left, I picked up my phone and dialed a number.
"Yes?" a voice answered on the other end.
"It's me," I said, my voice low and even. "We've got a plan in motion. Make sure everything is in place for the setup. I want this to be perfect."
The voice on the other end hesitated for a moment before responding. "Yes, sir. I'll take care of it."
I hung up the phone, feeling a sense of satisfaction. This was going to be big, and I was going to make sure it happened.
As I sat back down in my chair, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation.
*Lucien's POV*
We sat in the luxurious office, surrounded by lavish furnishings and artwork. I leaned back in my chair, steepling my fingers as I addressed my men.
"Gentlemen, we have a plan to put into action. We've been playing a game of cat and mouse with Vincent, but we have the upper hand. We know about his little scheme to set me up, and we're going to use it to our advantage."
Marcello nodded, a smile spreading across his face. "What’s the plan, Lucien?"
I leaned forward, my eyes locked on his. "We're going to meet with General Franco and lay out the evidence we've collected. We'll make sure he understands the situation and knows exactly what to do."
Giovanni, my trusted bodyguard, spoke up. "And what about Vincent's men? What happens to them?"
I smiled coldly. "They'll be dealt with accordingly. But our main focus is on Vincent. We need to make sure he's brought to justice and held accountable for his actions."
Marco nodded thoughtfully. "And what about the general? Can we trust him?"
I leaned back in my chair. "General Franco is a man of his word. He'll do what's right, and he'll help us bring Vincent down."
As we discussed the finer details of the plan, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. We were one step closer to bringing Vincent to justice, and I was confident that everything would go according to plan.
"Alright, let's review," I said, looking around the room."Marcello, you'll accompany me to the meet the General" I said.
