Not Another Fairytale

Seijun's POV I sighed in boredom as I listened to my professor's lecture. It was supposed to be fun and school-free Friday, but no. My damned professor decided to have class and discuss the ancient structures. His voice was annoying and what's more? He talked so slow that I wanted to doze off. I let out another huge sigh when my phone vibrated in my pocket. I cautiously fished out my phone and saw a message from my boyfriend. I smiled to myself and decided to reply to him while hiding my phone under my desk. After replying, I bit my lower lip when I noticed that I sent him a teasing message. I then glanced at the wall clock and smirked. "10 minutes more and I can finally bail out of this hell." I thought to myself as I felt my boredom suddenly disappearing. I kept glancing at the clock while my legs shook in anticipation. After 10 minutes had passed, I grabbed my bag and stood up from my seat before heading out of the damned classroom. As I was about to head out of the building, I heard my friend call out to me. I growled lowly. "Sei!!!" She shouted from a far distance, making everyone around the area look at her. She ran to me and tackled me with a big hug. "Careful, i***t. You're going to make both of us fall." I held her by her waist and smiled softly at her. "You're going to have a date today, aren't you?" She asked as she stared at me, crossing her arms on her chest. I gulped a little. "Y-Yeah. By the way, have you seen Mia? I haven't seen her since yesterday." I asked, changing the topic in a flash. "Oh! She texted earlier, saying that she was with Hiro the whole day yesterday and will be back tonight." She said with a smile on her face. I tilted my head. "So she won't be back until tonight, huh?" I sighed then heard a car honk in front of the campus' gates. "Oh! My ride's here. I'll see you later, Alexa. I'll be home by dinner." I rushed outside the gates when I heard Alexa shouted, "Take care of yourself, Sei!!!" I stopped in my tracks and looked back at her then waved. "I will!" I then rushed to my boyfriend's car and hopped in. As I sat on the passenger's seat and closed the car door, my boyfriend surprised me with a rough and deep kiss. I kissed back, but after a few seconds, we broke the kiss. "You're late, baby." He said lowly before driving. "Sorry Damien. My best friend talked to me and class ended a bit late." I reasoned out while fastening my seatbelt. "That's fine, but is it alright if we head to a coffee shop first?" He asked then glanced at me. I nodded in response and looked out the window. I then fished out my phone out of boredom and scrolled through my i********: when a message popped out. I glanced at my boyfriend before replying to the message. I sighed softly and looked back outside the window. - 20 minutes later - Damien parked the car when we arrived at the coffee shop. I unbuckled my seatbelt before getting out of the car. I walked inside with Damien and we headed to the counter. I looked up at the menu. "What would you like to have, darling?" He asked. I kept looking at the menu before saying, "I'd like an iced caramel macchiato." "Alright." He said then looked at the girl behind the counter. "We'll have an iced caramel macchiato and americano." The girl nodded with a bright smile then I noticed Damien staring at her with such sparkling eyes so I headed to a table next to the window and sat there. I checked my i********: then my Snapchat for some messages, but there were none. I sighed and just stared outide the window with an annoyed expression. Damien walked in my direction and sat across me. I looked at him. "So? You want to have fun tonight, baby?" He asked, then I crossed my legs and stared at him for a brief moment before smiling at him. "Sure, baby. Why not?" I said in a sexy voice. After a few minutes, the girl from the counter served our order. I eyed her up and down before glancing at Damien, who had the same flirty look at the girl earlier. I rolled my eyes and started drinking my drink. "By the way, how was your day? Tiring? Did you get bored in class?" Damien suddeny asked. I looked at him before replying, "It was pretty boring, but all in all, my day went pretty well." "That's good to hear, baby." He smiled then took a sip of his coffee. Damien Sanders and I have been dating for roughly 4 months. He's a year older than I am and I met him in a club where my friends and I regularly go to. We exchanged drinks at first and then things led from one thing to another. Before I knew it, we were already dating. "Oh yeah. Baby, do you want to go somewhere else later before we head to my place?" He asked. I gave him a slight glare before smiling softly. "Nah. Let's just head straight to your place. Better yet, why don't we leave this place and head there right now?" I said teasingly. I slightly licked my bottom lip just enough for him to notice. He smirked and said a low yes. We stood up from our seat and left the coffee shop. We rode his car and headed straight to his place. - 15 minutes later - The sun was setting when we arrived at his condo. We hopped out of the car and went to his unit. During the ride in the elevator, he touched my hand and arms nonstop. I giggled at his small touches. Then, the elevator rang, signaling our arrival on our designated floor. Once we arrived on his unit, he unlocked the door. Just as we entered, he pulled me by the waist and started kissing me deeply. I kissed back, wrapping my arms around his neck. He broke the kiss for a moment, before leading me to his bed. I smirked and pushed him on his bed. He was stunned and his eyes widened. I crawled on top of him, before kissing him passionately. He immediately kissed back, running his hands inside my shirt, and grazing his fingers on my skin. The rest of our afternoon went by in a blur. I felt hot and sticky all over as I laid beside my sleeping boyfriend. I sat up and grabbed my phone. It was already 7 p.m. so I looked at my sleeping boyfriend and then headed to his bathroom for a quick shower. After taking a shower, I wore my clothes. I took Damien's phone and deleted my contact and every picture of me in there. Then, I leaned down to kiss Damien's cheek and whispered on his ear, "Thank you for everything, Damien. But I have to go now." I even left a note saying that we're through so he could go date the girl from the coffee shop. I head out of his unit, but I glanced back and said to myself, "He was such a great kisser though." I left his condo and called a taxi back to the condo my friends and I share. I breathed out a huge sigh then checked my phone. I got a message from Alexa. NEW MESSAGE: Alexa: Where are you, Sei? Type Message: I'll be home in 10 minutes. I replied then looked out of the window and waited for a couple more minutes before I arrived at our condo. When I entered the unit, Alexa came rushing to me. She gave me a big hug then looked at me from head to toe. I blinked several times. "You're okay, right? You're not hurt, are you?" Alexa cupped my cheeks and tilted my head from side to side. "I'm alright, Alexa. I'm not hurt or anything." I smiled brightly at her then ruffled her hair. I took off my shoes and left them on the shoe rack. I went to the kitchen to find Mia eating a bag of chips on the counter while watching Netflix. I walked to her and grabbed a handful of chips. She swiftly turned her head and growled at me. "You thief! Those are mine!" She yelled as I opened the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water while eating the chips in hand. I shrugged then sat on the stool across hers while Alexa sat on the stool beside Mia's. They both looked at me with worry painted all over their faces. I swallowed the last bits of chips before asking, "Uhm. What's wrong?" "You broke up with Damien, didn't you?" Mia asked sternly. I drank my water in one gulp. "Well... uhm... yeah." I said the last part in almost like a whisper. I heard the both of them sighed in relief. "That's at least a relief." Alexa said, putting a hand on her chest. I tilted my head in confusion. "What's that supposed to mean?" I asked. "Well, Damien has been seeing this girl from the coffee shop a couple of minutes away from campus." Alexa said shyly. "I kinda knew that so I decided to break up with him without even telling him." I played with the empty bottle I have in hand then sighed. "But I know that you have reserves, right?" Mia asked and raised a brow. I bit my lower lip hard and nodded slowly. "Sei, this is will be your 5th this year, you hear me?" Mia scolded me and I just lowered my head. "I can't help it. I feel like I want every guy's attention on me. I want their love." I said in a low voice while fidgeting. "Sei. That's not love though. Sure, they may show and give you love, but you just don't give it back to them that much." Mia said and sighed while Alexa nodded in agreement. I sat there in silence at what they said. I bit my lower lip and sighed. "It's not like they really love me anyways. They're cheating on me as well so isn't it just right to break them?" I retorted and looked at my friends. "But that doesn't mean that you have to break them badly, hun." Mia rolled her eyes. "And besides, they'll get karma afterwards so... you can just ignore them." Alexa smiled at me. I pouted. "Fine. I won't break up with this one badly and I won't let this relationship last longer than it should." I gave up. "We've really spoiled you rotten when it comes to relationships, huh?" Mia giggled in which Alexa followed. "You guys are such meanies." I huffed and went to my room. I could still hear them laughing when I entered my room. I got my towel then headed to the bathroom. "You're going to bathe again?" Mia asked when she saw me walk out my room with my towel in hand. "Yeah. I feel gross." I replied then entered the bathroom. I locked the door then went to the sink to wash my face first. I looked at my reflection in the mirror and mumbled to myself, "I wonder when I first started going out with guys I just met." I heaved a sigh for the nth time. I turned on the shower, took off my clothes and then walked inside, feeling the warm droplets of water against my skin. I was in deep thought about what Mia said. "What is love then? If what I'm doing in my past relationships is not love then what is it? What was the feeling of love again? The last time I felt real love was with my very first boyfriend, but it ended up in a disaster since he cheated on me." I took a deep breath and just finished my shower. I walked out of the bathroom hearing Mia on the phone with someone. "Well, I'll see you in campus tomorrow so don't worry. Yeah. I love you, too." I heard her say before ending the call. "Who was that just now?" I asked. "Hiro. He called because he said that he misses me." I hummed in response. "You little-! Go wear some pants and a shirt!" Mia yelled at me which made me flinch and head straight to my room. "Seriously, Mia. You're like my mom!" I yelled from inside my room. "She actually does." I heard Alexa said from the outside. "If I'm not here, who would take care of your asses, hm?" I giggled at Mia's retort. After getting dressed, I head out to the living room where Mia and Alexa are. "Let's watch a movie, shall we? Just to keep our mind off of things." Mia nudged me. I scoffed and pouted. We spent the night eating snacks and watching mystery movies. Mia just had to spoil some parts and reveal who the culprits are which annoyed Alexa and I. After watching, we fell asleep in the living room and none of us even bothered to wake each other up. - The Next Morning - I woke up with the sun shining brightly in my eyes so I got up, washed my face and headed to the kitchen to make breakfast. I yawned and looked at the clock. "Mia has class at 9 a.m. if I remembered clearly. I better wake her up." I thought to myself as I made pancakes enough for the three of us. After cooking and making coffee, I walked up to the girls and woke them up. "Mia, get up, lazy ass. You have class at 9." I shook her. "What time is it?" She asked, rubbing her eyes while yawning. "It's just 7:30 a.m. so you can take your time getting ready." I said then went back to the kitchen, pouring coffee to each of our mugs. "Thanks for making breakfast, Sei." Alexa said with a sleepy voice and a smile. I giggled at her cuteness. "I'll go to the store later. Do you guys need anything?" I asked then sipped my coffee. "Buy more snacks. Oh and also some booze please." Mia replied while taking a bite of her pancakes. I looked at Alexa and she seemed to be in thought. "Sei, could you please buy me some milk and strawberries? I think we ran out yesterday." She said and I nodded. "Alright then." After breakfast, Mia got ready and left early to meet with her boyfriend before their class starts. Alexa left to pick up some print outs from her professor. I was left alone in the unit, bored. I cleaned the unit except for their rooms because it's their private space. After cleaning, I plopped on the living room couch and scrolled through my social media. I decided to check Damien's twitter account. He tweeted things of my pictures in his phone being deleted and even my contact is gone. I scoffed. "That's what you get for cheating on me, dumbass." I said to myself then sighed. I shut off my phone and dozed off to sleep. It was not even a few hours later when my phone rang. I growled under my breath and picked up my phone. "Yeah?" I answered sleepily. "Sweetheart? It's me, Mike. I was wondering if we could meet up later?" Ah. Who was this again? Oh. It's the guy I was also going out with. I was two-timing Damien with this guy. I forgot. "Uh. Yeah, sure. What time?" I asked and scratched my head as I sat up. "We could meet at the usual restaurant at 1 p.m. sharp." He said. I replied, "Sure. sounds great. I'll be there." I dropped the call and sighed. "It's not like I have anything better to do. I can go shopping later." I said to myself before getting up and taking a shower. After taking a shower, I got ready and wore a plain white shirt, a pair of ripped jeans, and my favorite black sneakers. I let my hair down and just brushed it. I wore some light pink lipstick, grabbed my phone and wallet then I'm ready to go. I went out of my unit, locked the door and then left the condo. I hailed a taxi and headed to my destination. - 5 minutes later - I arrived at the restaurant and saw Mike sitting on a table beside the window. I walked inside the restaurant, his back was facing me when I entered so I tapped on his shoulder. He looked behind him then I swiftly sat across him. He looked back in front. "You seem to be busy." I said. He jumped up a little and was shocked to see me sitting in front of him. "Since when did you get here?" He asked in shock. I smirked a little. "Oh. Just a few minutes ago." I flashed him a soft smile then leaned on the table, resting my chin on my hand. "I see." He said and smiled, looking back at his phone. I took a glance on it and just sighed. "Shall we order?" I asked him which made him put away his phone. "Right. Yes, we should." He said with a smile. Mike called the waitress and took our orders. I looked outside the window and sighed softly. "I'm sorry, baby. My co-worker was texting me about our new schedule." He said and held my hands. I looked at him and smiled. "Don't worry about it. It's fine." I replied and he gave my hand a soft squeeze. Michael "Mike" Ford and I met at the park during my weekly jog. I met him when I was dating Damien. We happened to bump into each other a couple of times and eventually, I fell for him while dating Damien. I did not tell them that I had someone else. I kept it secret and dated them both secretly until I broke up with Damien and now, I'm only dating Mike. "How was your day?" I asked and stared at him. He glanced at me and smiled warmly. It made me blush a little. "It was great. My boss praised me for working so hard and that every project we have is a success because of me." He said and that's when our orders arrived. He started talking about work and how his co-workers and boss have been so kind to him. It was amusing to watch him ramble of the little things about his day. I took a bite of my sandwich and made small talk with Mike. I vented out my frustrations about my school days and how much work I had to finish before I could get a decent break when all of a sudden, his phone rang. I stopped talking and ushered him to answer the call. He excused himself for a while and headed outside the restaurant. I bit my lip and finished my food. I kept glancing at him from outside the window and noticed how happy he was. I sipped on my milkshake while waiting for him. After a couple of minutes, he came back and said that his boss really needed him for an urgent meeting. I nodded and told him to go, but he still paid for our meal and kissed my cheek before he left. Mike is a workaholic. He works 24/7 even though there is nothing to do. His boss promoted him a couple of months ago and since then, we would set our dates once or twice a month because of his work. It's not that I mind, but I really did hope that he'd spend more time with me. He's a really sweet and caring guy, although he's a busy man, he still makes time for me. Once in a while, that is. After finishing my food, I headed to the nearest grocery store and started shopping for my friends and I. Once I got inside, I grabbed a small cart and headed towards the fruits section. I bought a few packs of strawberries and other fruits before heading to the dairy section. As I arrive there, I saw this couple being all mushy with each other. "I want milk, baby. Please?" The girl whined to her lover while tugging at his arm. The guy chuckled. "You could always have it later, you know?" The guy replied. My left eye twitched at his retort. I reached my arm in front of them and grabbed two bottles of milk. "Ah. I hope I could drink proper milk tonight." I whispered, but loud enough for them to hear. I groaned softly while I moved pass them to the next aisle. "Stupid horny couples getting on my nerves." I mumbled before finishing my tasks. - A couple of minutes later - I paid for my groceries when I suddenly caught the stupid horny couple from earlier. They were making out by a motorcycle. My left eye twitched, grabbing my groceries aggressively before walking out the grocery store. I purposely bumped on the guy, making the girl gasp dramatically. "Watch where you're going, freak!" She yelled. "Learn some public decency then." I retorted, grumbling all the way back home. This day might not be my best rest day.
