Chapter 8: Connection

Seijun's POV

The days went by in a blur. Suddenly, it's already Friday.

Here I am, debating on the clothes laid out on my bed. I bit my lower lip and decided to wear a pair of skinny jeans with a gray tank top. I also decided to bring a jacket in case it gets cold. Then, I wore a pair of black sneakers. I applied a light pink lipstick and eyeliner.

I double checked myself in the mirror before heading out of my room. I grabbed my backpack with extra clothes which I was told to bring. I walked to the living room to see Alexa and Mia all dolled up.

"Why are you guys so... dressed up?" I asked, raising a brow.

"Well, it's a rare trip for us so we just had to dress up a little." Alexa giggled, tapping on her phone.

"Yeah and besides, it's going to be the best day ever!" Mia exclaimed then picked up a backpack. I looked at it in confusion but ignored it anyway.

I sighed softly then after a couple of minutes, we headed out of our unit. I locked the door then headed out of the condo.

"Aren't we going to take a taxi or something?" I asked when I noticed that we were just standing outside the condo.

"Oh. No, we're not going to need a taxi." Mia said.

"They're here!" Alexa exclaimed as if on cue. She hurriedly approached the black mini van that looked quite expensive for my eyes.

"Hey, love." A charming Max greeted from the driver's seat, window rolled down.

"Good morning, guys!" Alexa replied.

"Hop in and let's hit the road!" The door slid open and revealed a cheerful Hiro.

Mia pushed me towards the van and told me to sit on the backseat. Alexa sat on the passenger's seat while Mia sat beside Hiro, infront of me. I blinked several times, confused and shocked.

"Hey hey Seijun! You're here!" I looked beside me and saw an angel-- I mean, Mr. Owner?

"Hello Hazuki." I simply greeted with a small smile, "I didn't know you were tagging along."

"Mia invited me so... yeah." He giggled then handed me the left part of his earphones.

"It's nice to listen to some music along the way, right?" I stared at him for a second then nodded. I plugged on the earphone on my ear then moved a bit closer to him.

"Thank you. It'll save my phone's battery." I smirked a little.

"That's just mean. My phone's gonna die then!" He whined which made me giggle. We then began to hit the road after a few minutes.

Hazuki then played some pop music. I nodded my head to the beat as I looked outside the window. I could feel Hazuki's eyes on me once in a while, but I paid it no mind.

The ride seems to be a long one.

It has been almost 30 minutes or more when I felt a heavy weight on my shoulder. I looked to my left to see Hazuki fast asleep, resting his head on my shoulder. My heart thrummed a little and I felt my cheeks grew a bit warm.

I shook my head to remove the unnecessary thoughts running through my mind, but I let him rest his head on my shoulder anyways. I felt Mia's eyes on us so I looked at her with narrow eyes.

"What?" I whispered at her. The little devil in front of me started giggling.

"You two look cute together." She whispered back snapping a picture. I gasped softly.

"Dude! Delete that!" I yelled at her which made Hazuki shift a little. I panicked a little so I caressed his head softly. I stopped when I realized what I was doing.

I heard Mia giggle again so I just glared at her and rested my hand on my lap. She just stuck her tongue out before facing the front again. I groaned internally.

Why do I get to be stuck with you right now?

I bit my lower lip, looking back outside the window. The music kept playing which kind of distracted me from the attractive man sleeping on my shoulder.

I sighed softly.

- About 40 minutes later -

We arrived on our destination. It was still early when we arrived, just in time for lunch. I took a quick look outside and noticed a clear field with a forest in view. I gasped in awe as I saw the view.

"Hazuki. We're here." I woke him up gently, making sure not to startle him.

He shifted a little before sitting up properly. He yawned and stretched a bit. He looked at me with those hypnotizing eyes of his then smiled sheepishly, "I didn't make you uncomfy, did I?"

I shook my head and gave him a small smile, "No. Not at all."

"Alright. We're here guys!" Alexa exclaimed, excitedly getting out of the car.

"Where is 'here' exactly?" I asked as I got out of the car, my backpack slung over my right shoulder. Mia laughed.

"Girl, this is a camping site where everyone gets to enjoy the great outdoors. It's famous for it's sunset view and wide open field." Mia then wrapped an arm around my shoulder. I looked at her with confusion.

"Ok? But why? What are we? Children? Girl scouts in training?" Alexa pinched my cheeks at that. I winced.

"No, dummy. We're just here to relax and enjoy outdoor activities! It's time for a change." She giggled.

"So how far was this from the city?" Hazuki asked, a hand on his waist.

I couldn't help my traitorous eyes rake over his God-like figure. His muscular body seemed too hot despite the sun shining brightly.

I then decided to tease him a little so I walked up beside him and said, "Based on how long you slept, I guess a good 2 hours."

He blinked at me which made me let out a soft giggle.

"I'm kidding." I playfully punched his arm before heading to Mia and Alexa's direction.

I cannot believe I just said something so lame!

I felt heat rush to my cheeks because of embarrassment. I groaned when I walked over to my friends.

"C-Can I help you guys carry something?" I asked softly.

"Here. You can carry this bag, Sei." Mia handed me a backpack which I gladly accepted.

"Anythihng else?"

"No. We'll take it from here." Alexa said and gave me a bright smile. I nodded at her.

That was just so embarrassing.

Hazuki's POV

Did she just...?

I tapped Hiro's shoulder and asked, "Did Seijun just said a joke?"

He laughed at me and patted my shoulder, "She's finally warming up to you, huh? That's good, man!"

I looked at him with furrowed brows.

"You didn't answer my question, though."

"Well, if Sei starts making lame or corny jokes, she's already warming up to you." He said and smiled widely.

I smiled to myself then let out a soft chuckle.

We then walked to where the others were. Max was already setting up the tents with Mia's help when we approached them. Alexa and Seijun were fixing the necessary things.

"It's such a good thing that this place isn't that far from the city." Mia commented.

"Yeah. This is fun once in a while." Max agreed.

I walked up to Seijun, "Anything we could help you girls with?"

"Hazuki! Great timing! Why don't you and Hiro go into the forest and look for some fire wood?" Alexa said cheerfully.

"Sure. We could do that." I replied. I took off my jacket and placed it on top of the bags.

I tugged on Hiro's arm and dragged him into the forest. I took one glance at Seijun then smirked at her.

Oh? Did I just caught her staring at me?

"So, seriously, how long was the ride from the city?" I asked as Hiro chopped down a log in half.

"It wasn't that long. Maybe an hour and a half?" He said and groaned.

He piled the chopped up woods on the side. I grabbed the axe from him and started chopping a log. It was like back in high school when we took a camping trip. I smiled to myself.

"Well, I certainly haven't heard of this place." I said as Hiro sat down under a huge tree.

"Yeah. Me too. Mia just told me about this place. Apparently, her team once went here." He said and yawned.

"Is that so?" I groaned when I delivered one last swing of the axe.

Once we finished gathering fire wood, we headed back to camp and set the woods down in the middle.

I feel all sticky and sweaty now.

My eyes suddenly drifted to Seijun tying up her hair in a ponytail. She looked at me then smirked. She slowly grazed her fingertips on her neck as sweat dripped down from it. I felt my jaws clench at the sight.

So this is how you want to play, sweet girl? Let's play.

I helped Max and Hiro with setting up the other things while throwing small smiles at Seijun.

"Alright! There will be no complaints with what I'm about to say, ok? If there are compliants, sleep outside." Mia said, voice commanding.

"Hiro and I will share a tent, ok? Max and Alexa will be sharing and lastly, Hazuki and Sei. Clear? Good." She smiled before heading to one tent and setting her bags there.

"Wait. Why?" Seijun pouted.

I want to kiss those damn lips.

"Do you want to sleep outside instead, then?" Mia asked.

"No, but--"

"Then it's settled."

I heard Seijun groan then glanced at me. I smirked at her then decided it's time to take my revenge.

I stood up and stretched a little. Knowing that her eyes were still on me, I grabbed my shirt from the back and took it off completely. I flexed a little as I groaned.

"Damn, my shirt's all wet and sweaty." I whined softly. I glanced at Seijun who quickly turned to the other direction and headed towards Alexa. I smirked to myself then approached Max.

"Are we staying for two days and one night only?" I asked, wiping the sweat trickling down my neck with my shirt.

"Yeah. Well, Mia wanted to spend it for two nights, but Seijun had Saturday classes so we can't." He said, fishing out a couple bags of food.

"That's too bad. I was kind of hoping to hang out some more." I pouted.

Max then looked at me, staring at me for a minute before focusing on his task once more.

"Yeah. That's really too bad. Guess you can't do all those bad things in your head anymore." He replied, mocking my previous comment. I gasped dramatically.

"You're so mean, Max. I can't believe you just spoiled my plan." I clutched my chest in a dramatic way, feigning pain.

"Knowing that mind of yours? I know that nothing good is running in there." He said then stood up straight.

"Food's all set and ready. The campfire's also set. Tents are all set. I think everything's settled." Max muttered. I pouted at him again.

I better make sure there'll be progress between Seijun and I before we head back to the city.

It was already past lunch time when we decided to eat. We had sandwiches, salads, different kinds of fruits, and mixed nuts. We settled on eating on large blanket a few meters away from the camp just to admire the wide open field.

I changed my clothes to a pair of denim shorts and a plain white muscle shirt. The others just decided to change their tops.

"Here, love." Max handed Alexa a cup filled with juice. Alexa smiled and thanked him with a kiss on the cheek. I watched the scene unfold while nibbling on an apple slice.

I turned to look at my left and saw Seijun smiling at Hiro and Mia. Those love birds decided that it was cute to feed each other which made me stare at them for a while before noticing Seijun waving a hand in front of my face.

"Here. Have some." Seijun handed me an apple. I stared at it for a couple of seconds, noticing a shape.

"It's a bunny." I looked at Seijun. Her cheeks were tinted a soft pink as she focused on making another bunny apple. Her voice was soft in almost like a whisper.

I giggled and lifted up the bunny apple, "It's too cute to eat. I feel like keeping it instead."

Her head spun in my direction in an instant, "You can't do that. The apple will rot, idiot."

I laughed before taking a bite of the apple, "You're right. Thank you, Sei. Can you make me another one, then?"

She nodded and gave me another bunny apple. She looked so focused yet she kept a blank expression.

I want to see how you react when I kiss you. I want to see what kind of face you'll make once you're under me--

"You have something on your cheek." I was cut off of my thoughts when Seijun spoke. She inched closer to my face and licked my cheek.

I stared at her with wide eyes. She smirked at me and whispered, "I'm kidding. I just wanted to taste you."

This little tease!

She then resumed to her previous position before casually chatting with Mia.

I held in a growl that threatened to escape my throat as my hand clenched on my side, nails digging into my palm. I wanted to kiss her so bad as she just smiled and talked with her friends. I wanted to kiss away that smirk on her face after she licked my cheek.

But I was patient and calm, so I shook all those thoughts away and drank the water from my cup.

Let's see if you can still smirk once I get to kiss you silly.

As time ticked by, we did a couple of things like playing tag, chatting and gossiping. We even played truth or dare just for fun. Seijun just took a nap when we were just chatting and snacking, waiting for time to pass.

Mia woke Seijun up when we decided to watch the sunset on the open field. The two couples sat side by side while cuddling. I sat beside Seijun, our shoulders a couple of millimeters apart.

"It's beautiful, huh? I haven't seen such a beautiful sunset in my life." She commented. The soft breeze made her hair flow just like the ones in the movies. Her lips quirking up to a small smile.

"Yeah. I really haven't seen something so beautiful." I said which made her look at me. She caught me staring, but I didn't mind.

"You're too cheesy." She slapped my arm playfully which made me chuckle.

"Really? I thought it was romantic." She scoffed at my reply.

After watching the sunset, Hiro and Max lit up the campfire while Mia got the food ready.

"What are we having for dinner?" Seijun asked as she sat on a blanket in front of the campfire. I sat beside her.

"We're having chicken soup. I made it beforehand so we'll just have to heat it up." Mia replied.

Seijun stretched out her legs. My eyes suddenly zeroed on her shoes. Her sneakers looked so small, it was cute to look at.

"Hey, Seijun. What's the size of your feet?" I looked at her. Even in the darkness where the only light was the campfire, I could see how her cheeks tinted a light pink. Her eyes widened briefly.

"Why do you want to know?" She pulled her knees to her chest, hugging it.

"I just noticed how your shoes looked so small." I smiled softly at her.

"M- My feet size is four and a half." She barely whispered, head bowing slightly in embarrassment. Luckily, I heard her clearly. I smiled to myself.

"You're serious?" I asked, a hint of laughter in my voice. She groaned and clicked her tongue.

"Yeah. You got a problem with that?!" She snapped at me, cheeks tinted a brighter pink. I giggled.

"No. Not at all. I just realized that you and Cinderella have the same shoe size." I leaned back, my hands supporting my weight. I looked into her eyes as I smiled at her genuinely.

"You're ridiculous. But, that's the only thing close enough to compare me to a princess." She mumbled the last part, but I still heard her.

I was about to reply to her when Alexa handed us two bowls of soup.

"There's more if you'd like seconds." Seijun thanked Alexa. I did the same and glanced at Seijun before taking a sip of the soup.

Damn. Mia is really a good cook.

The conversations were filled with laughter and teasing. Hiro was on his third serving already when I was still on my second.

"Alright. So, what's camping without s'mores?" Alexa happily said before standing up and heading to the bags.

"Hey! That's for later!" Mia exclaimed. Alexa scoffed and replied, "But we can have them already while the others finish their soup."

She giggled and popped open a large bag of marshmallows as well as some crackers.

"Seijun just want marshmallows though." Mia said, pushing a marshmallow inside her mouth.

"That's fine!" Alexa said, smiling widely.

After finishing the soup, we ate s'mores while chatting about random things. Max suggested to tell scary stories since it's a natural camping activity.

Hiro was jumpy while Mia told a story while the others just laughed at him. Seijun seemed to flinch a lot as Mia told the story which made her lean close to me. I just laughed along with Max and Alexa everytime Hiro jumped.

After finishing the bag of marshmallows, we all went to our respective tents. I had to wait outside since Seijun said that she needed to change.

I paced a bit as I waited for her to finish.

"You can get inside now." She called from the inside. As I entered the tent, I was expecting two separate sleeping bags. Instead, there was a thin mattress in the middle and two fluffy looking pillows.

My eyes widened briefly as I looked at Seijun. She was sitting at the left side of the mattress, rubbing the back of her neck.

"I didn't know they'd bring a mattress instead of a sleeping bag." She said softly, looking away.

This woman. She basically sleeps with random guys yet she gets all flustered around me?!

"Well, at least it's warmer and softer than a sleeping bag." I chuckled lightly before taking off my shirt. She looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

"You sleep without a shirt?" She asked.

"Yeah. I do. Why? Are you feeling uncomfortable?" She shook her head before slipping into the blanket, her back facing me.

I slipped into the blanket, turning my back on her. I closed my eyes and tried to sleep, yet I don't seem to feel tired or sleepy.

After what felt like hours, I turned around to face Seijun. I was a bit surprised to see her facing in my direction, eyes closed and mouth slightly agape.

I propped my elbow and rested my cheek on my hand. I smiled softly.

"If only you'd see how adorable your sleeping face is." I mumbled softly.

"Is it really?" I heard her say softly. My eyes widened.

Seijun opened her eyes. A pair of mesmerizing brown orbs stared into my dark ones. I smiled then nodded, moving closer to her.

"Yes, really." I whispered. She giggled and slapped my arm lightly.

"You're joking." I stared at her lips, inching closer. I looked into her eyes before saying, "You are really adorable whether you're awake or asleep."

Her eyes travelled to my lips. She whispered a soft 'okay'. I smiled softly before capturing her lips on mine.

Damn. They're as soft as I thought they'd be.

I kissed her slowly, but passionately. I captured her bottom lip and placed soft pecks on it before giving it a soft lick. She let out a soft moan at that which made me lay down completely, my arms wrapping around her waist as I pulled her close to deepen the kiss. She opened her mouth slightly as I licked her lower lip a few more times.

Her hands found their way to my jaw, cupping them softly as we kiss. She broke away to catch her breath, but that didn't stop me from trailing soft and wet kisses on her cheek, chin and jaw. She whimpered as I found myself kissing the column of her throat while my hands massaged her waist gently.

"Hazuki." She moaned. I groaned at that before stopping my actions.

We stared at each other for a few seconds, catching our breaths from the kiss. Her eyes hazed with need as I kissed her again with fervor.

I wouldn't end the night just like this.
