Chapter 6: Confusion

Hazuki's POV

I was busy making coffee when my phone vibrated in my pocket. I fished it out and saw a message from an unknown number.

Unknown: Get out.

I raised an eyebrow and decided to finish the coffee I was making before walking out of my shop. I sighed and saw a group of guys across the street. I walked up to them and asked, "Were you the one who texted me?"

I crossed my arms on my chest, voice cold and annoyed.

"Yeah. It was me. You were the guy Nicole slept with last night, yeah?" The guy in the middle said. He was quite taller than I was and a lot bigger too, but I wasn't intimidated.

"Nicole?" I was confused then it struck me.

Oh. The cheerleader.

"So what if it was me?"

The guy scoffed then laughed before punching me on my face. I felt blood trickle down my nose as I stumbled a little. I wiped off the blood and was ready to hit him back when he immediately punched me on the other side of my face. My vision got really blurry, but I still managed to land a fist on his nose.

I coughed a little then said, "Your little girlfriend or whatever, is a total w***e. You hear me? She admitted that last night. Just go ahead and ask her."

"She is not like that, you bastard!" The guy said and was about to punch me again. I closed my eyes and prepared for the impact, but instead, I heard him groan.

I opened my eyes to see the guy sitting on the floor and holding his stomach. His friends surrounded him.

"What the--?! You?! The hell was that for, loser?!" He screamed. I turned to my right and saw Seijun.

She walked towards the guy and knelt to his level.

"You are such an asshole. You think Nicole would be happy if she heard about this?" She said with an unusually cold voice laced with a bit of worry.

"N-No."

"Then get the hell out of here and start making up with her. Unless you want her to breakup with you?" She was smirking. The guy gulped, got up then left with his group.

Seijun got up then turned to me with a tiny smile, "Yeah. You're pretty hot when you're beat up."

My eyes went wide and before I could even say a word, she dragged me back inside the shop. She told me to sit on her chair then walked up the counter. I sighed and saw that her friend was here. I smiled politely at her.

"I'm sorry you had to deal with that classmate of ours." She said, smiling apologetically.

"No. That's fine actually. I quite understand. He just wanted his girlfriend for himself."

"Yeah. He is quite the possessive type. But still, sorry."

I beamed at her, but winced when I felt an ache in my jaws.

"Here, Mr. Owner."

My face was then gently turned to face Seijun. I blinked a couple times before realizing that she had placed an ice pack on my right jaw. I stared at her. Her beautiful orbs focused solely on my aching jaw. Her fingers gently cupped my other cheek.

"You're going to make want to kiss you, Seijun." I said with a small fond smile. She scoffed.

"As if you could try and do that, Mr. Owner." She said with a slight smirk. I giggled softly then winced.

"Would you please stay still?" She said, irritated.

"What kind of demon possessed you to save my ass back there?"

She then placed the ice pack on my left jaw this time then groaned softly.

"Bryan didn't seem like he would stop and let it slide. I kind of guessed he would at least throw a punch or two so I stepped in. Besides, he's weak for Nicole." She said with such a stoic expression. I nodded at her.

"What about you? Why'd you... sleep with her?" She asked the last part in almost like a whisper.

"I just met her at the new bar. We got drunk and things lead from one thing to another. I just thought she was the same age as I am." I said then shrugged. I felt more pressure on my jaw.

"Ouch! Seijun!"

"I'm sure you can fix your face by yourself now, so please excuse me. I have a classmate to teach." She said then pulled me out of her chair before pushing me towards the staff room.

Was she... jealous?

The thought made my heart skip a beat then I smirked.

"Were you jealous, Seijun?" I whispered on her ear which earned me a very cold gaze.

"Me? Jealous? I can have that every night with a different guy each time. I'm not settling for just one flavor." She replied then turned back to her shocked classmate.

I felt my shoulder tense a little then I leaned into her and whispered in a deep voice, "We'll see about that then."

I could feel her body shivered at that which satisfied me just a bit before I headed back to the staff room to clean the dried blood on my nose.

I sat on the breakroom's couch while still placing the ice pack on my jaw.

I want her to submit to me so badly.

I fished out my phone and checked my messages. That was when I saw Max's message about the guy. I groaned.

I could've prepared if only I saw his message earlier. I sighed and thought of a plan on making Seijun fall and submit to me.

"Sir? Are you alright? Do you want something to drink?" One of my baristas asked then I smiled.

"No thank you. You can carry on with work. I'll leave in a minute." She nodded and headed back to the counter.

I should probably invite her to hang out sometime.

Seijun's POV

My heart thrummed in my chest as if it was about to pop out. I turned to my classmate who had a teasing smile on her lips.

"What?"

"I think the owner of this shop like you!" She squealed and I scoffed.

"As if. Can't you see his types of girls?" I said.

She sipped her drink then hummed, mumbling to herself, "Nicole is tall, beautiful, flexible, sexy and sophisticated."

Then, as if she just got the answer, she said a simple, "Oh."

I shook my head and finished my coffee. My mind kept wandering off, reeling back to why I kicked Bryan in the stomach just to save his ass.

Right. 'Cause I care.

I told my classmate everything she needed to study for the quiz tomorrow then parted ways.

It was past 7 p.m. when we finished and I was ready to head home and get a good night's sleep. I was about to cross the street when a black and shiny sports car stopped in front of me. I raised a brow.

The window was then lowered down and I saw the driver.

"Come on. I'll take you home."

"You don't have to, Hazuki. But, thank you." I said and bowed politely.

"Come on. I promise to make you another crepe cake next time." He smiled warmly then I sighed softly.

"Ok then. That's a promise." I gave in since I was already tired and my body already felt really heavy.

I got in his car and put on the seatbelt before sinking onto the seat. He drove right away. I felt like I was being lulled to sleep.

"You had a long day, Sei?" I heard him asked which I just hummed in response. In a couple of minutes, I felt myself doze off to sleep. The intoxicating scent of his perfume and the soft music playing in the background made me doze off.

- A few minutes later -

I felt someone caress my cheek and moved a few strands of my hair away from my face. I leaned onto the touch and nuzzled on the warm hand. It felt comforting and relaxing then I heard a soft chuckle.

"Wake up, Sei. You're home." I groaned then woke up slowly. That's when I realized that I was still in Mr. Owner's car. I jumped a little.

"I'm sorry! Oh gosh! Thanks for the ride. I'll pay you back next time." I hurriedly took off the seatbelt, bowed slightly at him then got out the car. I could see him chuckle inside before waving at me then driving off.

I groaned and pulled at my hair slightly before heading up to my unit. As I rode the elevator, I screamed in embarrassment. It was a good thing that I was alone.

I was so stupid! I let myself be vulnerable inside a stranger's car! He's a friend, but still!

When I arrived at my unit, I unlocked the door then headed straight to the kitchen. I grabbed a bottle of water before getting tackled by Mia from behind.

"Watch it!" I said and gripped on the counter to avoid the both of us from falling.

"There's dinner in the microwave. I'll heat it up, but girl! You have to spill everything that happened today!" She squealed in my ear then I shoved her away gently.

"Fine! Only If I can get a shower first, please?" I said and she nodded with enthusiasm.

"Thank you." I said then headed to my room to shower.

As I was taking my time showering, I couldn't help but think about how Mr. Owner whispered into my ear with his deep voice. His question about me being jealous made me think if I really was. Maybe I was, but I wouldn't really admit that.

I finished showering and making myself feel comfy so I headed out of my room. I walked back into the kitchen and sat on the stool by the counter as Mia prepared my dinner. Alexa suddenly came up from behind and hugged me before sitting right beside me.

"So? What happened?" Mia asked, sitting across me.

I took a bite of my meal before telling the story on how I found out information about the famous campus' couple.

"So you hung out with his teammate's girlfriend that's why you found out?" Alexa asked and I nodded.

"Yeah. Bryan wasn't attending classes that much so I never got to ask." I said with my mouth full.

"We were right, then? It was Hazuki all along?" Mia asked which Alexa nodded to.

"Wait! But you saved Hazuki? From Bryan?" Mia suddenly asked. I swallowed my food hard before nodding.

"Why?" Mia asked, teasingly.

"Because I care and he's my friend now! That's why!" I said.

"But that tiny little blush on your cheeks says otherwise." Alexa poked my cheek. I swatted her hand away then mumbled things they wouldn't understand.

"Honestly, I wouldn't really care if you hooked up with Hazuki. I mean, I trust the guy and I want to know how you would handle him." Mia said before grabbing a pint of ice cream from the fridge.

"I care. He's your friend. I don't want to hurt him." I mumbled the last part, finishing up my food.

"Aww. That's cute, but I think I agree with Mia on this one. I think Hazuki can handle you pretty well." Alexa commented with a small giggle.

I scoffed at both of them, bringing my empty dishes to the sink and washing them.

"Look, guys. I appreciate it. Really. But that guy deserves someone better, got that?" I said, dismissing the subject. They sighed. I washed the dishes in silence while I heard Alexa and Mia talking to each other about another topic.

After washing the dishes, I gave the both of them a hug and bid them goodnight.

"You guys sleep in a bit, yeah?" I said with a soft smile then walked towards my room.

"Sei?" Alexa called out. I turned to them and they're both giving me a soft and gentle smile.

"For what it's worth? We both think you deserve someone better too." Alexa said.

"Yeah, sweetie. Give yourself a chance, yeah? It's time to forgive yourself." Mia added and threw me a kiss. I giggled at that.

"Thanks guys. You're really the best." I replied before entering my room.

I plopped on my bed and sighed softly. I hugged my pillow tight.

Give myself a chance, huh? Maybe I should...

Mia's POV

Just when Seijun entered her room, I dialed Hazuki's number and called him.

"Hello?"

I put him on loudspeaker while I ate my ice cream.

"Hey, dummy. You home yet?" I asked, Alexa giggled.

"Yeah. I just finished my paperworks. What's up?"

"Are you able to clear your schedule on Friday?" Alexa asked while nibbling on the cookies she got just a few minutes ago.

"Friday? Sure, but why though?"

Seriously, this guy is full of questions. It's annoying.

"We're kind of planning to hang out. Max and Hiro will be there too." I said with a small smirk.

"Is this a plan on getting Seijun and I together?"

Smartass.

"Not really. Why'd you ask?" I said and took a spoonful of ice cream.

"No reason really. If you are though, can you just at least leave it to me?"

"Leave what to you?" Alexa asked.

"Making her fall for me."

Alexa and I looked at each other and smiled knowingly.

"Alright then. But I have a question." I glanced at a now smirking Alexa.

"Sure. What is it?"

"What made you want her?"

It was silent from the other line for a few minutes so I thought Hazuki had already dropped the cal.

"Hazuki?"

"She's just different, you know? It makes me want to try and tame her or something."

I could feel like this guy's already slightly red in the ears.

"Well, we wish you good luck Hazuki." Alexa said then giggled.

"Thanks guys. I need that."

He giggled.

"I gotta head to bed now, girls. I'll see you soon."

"Sure. Sleep well." I said and Alexa added, "Goodnight Hazuki!"

After that, he dropped the call. I sighed softly and looked at Alexa.

"Well, looks like they're really fated after all." I said. Alexa nodded and smiled softly.

"Yeah. I'm glad though. I really want Seijun to stop hooking up here and there." She mumbled softly.

"I just want to see her happy." She added and I hugged her.

"She will be. I promise." I ruffled her hair which made her giggle.

"We better head to bed soon. We have classes tomorrow." I said then started cleaning up the counter.

Alexa then threw away the cookie wrappers and bid me goodnight before heading to her room. After cleaning up and checking everything, I headed to my room.

I went to the bathroom and did my nightly routine before laying in bed. I picked up my phone and began scrolling through my social media.

A couple minutes later, my phone began to ring and there, I saw my boyfriend calling. I answered.

"Hey, baby. What are you doing up so late?" I asked and lied on my stomach, clutching a pillow to my chest.

"I was up finishing a report. It's due tomorrow."

He replied with a soft sigh. I heard a bit of rustling from the other side so he must be just getting ready for bed.

"Is that so? How was your day, by the way? I forgot to text you when I got home earlier." I said and played with the hem of my pillow.

"It was good. A little stressful, but good. My boss wanted me to report tomorrow since my client has already finalized their plans."

I smiled at how enthusiastic he could be even when he's obviously tired.

"At least they didn't take a long time to finalize. Anyway, don't forget Friday, alright?" I said and he hummed in response.

"I won't. I promise. Plus, I can't wait to hang out with you guys. You're in luck because that's my day off."

He giggled. I smiled to myself.

"Yeah. I am lucky." I said then heard him yawn.

"You could actually sleep now, baby. I'll leave the call on." I said softly.

"Really? Thanks, baby. I love you. Goodnight."

"Goodnight, love." I whispered. Then, within a minute, I could hear his soft snores. I found it adorable which made me giggle a little.

Hiro and I have been together since he was in college. We met through Hazuki. It's fun actually. Having your friends close to you and your boyfriend can even join in on the fun. I just really hoped that Seijun would give herself a chance and mingle with someone decent and mature enough. Most guys she hooked up with are either cheaters or creeps. It's kind of annoying to watch really.

I sighed softly then scrolled through my social media once again, not hanging up the call. As I was scrolling, I saw Nicole posted a picture of Bryan and her in a club just a few minutes ago. Bryan had his arms wrapped around her waist while he kissed her neck. Nicole was taking the selfie and pouting her lips. I read the caption that said, "My baby is cute."

I scoffed at that and continued scrolling. The next picture I found was about the nerd that Sei had made out with. The guy whom she introduced to another girl. They were kissing in the picture. The background seemed like a coffee shop. It was cute.

Seijun always thought about others before herself. She doesn't care if she gets hurt. What matters to her is others happiness. Stupid. I hope she realizes that she deserves to be happy too.

I got bored and sleepy scrolling the internet so I decided to head to bed, but before that, I headed out to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water. I drank up then headed to my room.

As I shut my door, I yawned and plopped on my bed, placing the bottle of water on my nightstand then listened to the soft snores of my boyfriend. It made me doze off.

I hope Seijun finally gets everything she deserves.
