Scarlett – POV
Moving in felt like being sentenced.
Dominic’s penthouse was exactly how she remembered it—clean, cold, and breathtaking. Towering windows framed the city skyline, marble floors gleamed like mirrors, and the walls were adorned with abstract art worth more than her annual salary.
But none of it felt like home.
It felt like a cage. Beautiful. Gilded. Quiet.
Too quiet.
Scarlett stood by the floor-length windows, arms crossed as the last box was carried in by a maid who refused to meet her eye. Dominic hadn’t said much since she signed the contract.
No “Welcome home.” No smirk. No warmth.
Just cold instructions: move in by 5. Don’t be late. Use the east bedroom. No press interviews.
No touch unless you ask for it.
She hadn’t decided which part disturbed her more—the threat in his voice or the fact that part of her wanted him to break his own rule.
---
Dominic appeared around 6, returning from whatever billionaire hellhole he ran. He wore the same dark suit, no tie, sleeves rolled up, jaw set in that arrogant way that made her stomach tighten and her fists clench.
He didn’t greet her.
Just poured himself a glass of bourbon and loosened the top two buttons of his shirt.
She watched him silently.
He watched her back.
“Your room is the one with the black headboard,” he said. “Everything you need’s been moved.”
Scarlett bristled. “Including my freedom?”
His mouth curved. “That too.”
“Asshole.”
“Wife.”
Her breath hitched.
He said it so casually. So dangerously. Like it was a role she could never escape.
She walked past him, shoulder brushing his chest. She didn’t look up.
But she felt him turn. Felt his eyes on her hips as she disappeared down the hall.
She hated that her body still reacted to him like fire to oxygen.
---
Dominic – POV
She looked like sin in that little silk tank and shorts.
Moving around his home like a storm that refused to settle. She was angry. He expected that. But beneath the fury, he saw something deeper.
Desire.
She didn’t want to want him.
But she did.
Every glance. Every shiver. Every time her breath caught when he stepped too close.
He planned to wait.
To keep his distance.
To let her come to him.
But now, standing in the doorway of her bedroom—his former guest room, now hers—he saw her sitting on the edge of the bed, her back turned, shoulders bare, head bowed.
Vulnerable.
Breakable.
Beautiful.
She didn’t notice him right away.
But when she did—she tensed.
“You watching me sleep now?” she muttered.
“You’re not sleeping.”
He stepped in.
“You’re in my space.”
“Technically, it’s your space now too,” he said.
She stood, arms crossed over her chest. “What do you want?”
Dominic stared at her. The moonlight poured across her collarbone, kissed the curve of her lips.
He wanted to ruin her composure.
Again.
But this time… slower.
“Say the word,” he said quietly. “And I’ll walk out.”
She stared.
Silent.
Her breathing shallow.
Then she whispered, “Don’t.”
---
Scarlett – POV
She hated herself for saying it.
But when he stepped forward and cupped her face with his rough, calloused hand, her body leaned into the touch before her brain could stop it.
She was already melting. Already weak.
He brushed his thumb across her lip.
“You want rules?” he asked.
“No lies.”
“Fine.”
“No games.”
“Scarlett,” he murmured, mouth just inches from hers, “with us, it’s always been a game.”
He kissed her.
Softly, this time.
Not like the first night. Not like the hallway wall or the club. This was something else. Dangerous in its tenderness. Addicting in its restraint.
Her knees buckled slightly.
He caught her.
Lifted her.
Placed her down on the bed.
---
Dominic – POV
He spread her out like art.
Her hair tangled over the pillow. Her thighs parted easily. Her lips trembled, waiting.
He didn’t rush.
This wasn’t about power. This was about proving that she was still his.
He started with kisses down her collarbone, then her stomach, watching her squirm.
When his mouth dipped lower, her hand tangled in his hair.
“Ahh… Dominic…” she gasped, back arching.
He groaned against her heat, fingers digging into her hips.
She was soaked. Desperate. Beautifully responsive.
He teased her until she was whimpering.
“Please…”
He crawled back up, unbuttoning his shirt, eyes never leaving hers.
“You still want me.”
“I hate you.”
“Say it again,” he smirked, “while I f**k you senseless.”
And then he was inside her—slow, deep, relentless.
---
Scarlett – POV
Her mind blanked.
All she could feel was him—every inch, every stroke, every whispered curse against her throat.
He moved like he owned her body. Like he’d memorized every nerve ending, every spot that made her gasp or scream.
And she gave in.
“Hah—yes… harder…”
He lifted her leg over his shoulder and went deeper.
Her fingers clawed his back.
“Why does it feel like this?” she cried out.
“Because you’re mine,” he growled.
“Stop saying that…”
“Then make me stop.”
She kissed him, fierce and broken, as he drove into her harder, faster, until she shattered around him.
---
Dominic – POV
He didn’t stop until she was limp beneath him, lips swollen, body wrecked.
And still, he kissed her.
Not like a lover.
Like a curse.
Because that’s what she was.
And tonight?
He had her again.
---
Later That Night
Scarlett lay awake, facing the window, Dominic asleep beside her.
She reached for her stomach without thinking.
She hadn’t told him.
Not yet.
And soon, she wouldn’t be able to hide it.
But how do you tell the man who controls your life, your body, your future…
That you’re carrying his child… again?
