Kimberly The air in the room was heavy with tension, the kind that made my skin crawl and my heart pound against my ribs. Kendrick’s eyes, dark and unyielding, bore into mine as he stood towering over me. His presence was suffocating, a constant reminder of the control he held over my life, my body, my very existence. I couldn’t look away, no matter how much I wanted to. His voice, low and venomous, echoed in my ears. “You think you can disobey me?” he snarled, his lips curling into a mockery of a smile. “You think I won’t remind you who’s in charge here?” My breath hitched.
