DAY 17 HOW THEY HEALED THE WOUNDED GIRL I woke up and had breakfast as usual. I was getting used to my hard mattress and I slept better as the days went by. Being able to sleep on the logs kept me isolated from the moisture of the soil, which was horrible. It was raining hard and in the village you could hear the usual frenetic noises of activity that took place every morning. I helped the women collect palm leaves to change those that were already dry. Nyanwi didn't show up at all that day, so I spent the whole day training with the bow.
