I leave the corpse of the old woman behind and carry my unconscious wife back to the mansion. My brain is rife with worries, but I know she has had enough for today. She had to kill her mate, and now from the looks of it a woman who seemed close to her committed suicide in front of her. She saw enough death today. Enough blood.
When I reach the mansion, my parents and the ministers have thankfully departed to their quarters, and only the guards see us enter the mansion.
" Your Highness...," A young pack guard advances towards us as he looks at his Luna with concern.
" Help me get her to the room." He hurries in front of me and opens doors in my way.
I place Isabelle on our bed, and then turn to face him.
" Tell the other guards to keep this to themselves." I warn and he bows.
