The Lost Wolf

Chapter 6

LIAM’S POV

            She looked radiating beneath the moonlight tonight.  I could barely catch my breath as I gazed upon her beauty before me.  I feel lucky to have her as my mate, not just for her beauty but for her strength as well which I can see radiating within her.  She has a fearlessness which I have never seen upon any human before.  Most humans would run in fear from a werewolf, but she stared upon me tonight with a look of trust and fearlessness.  This action has captivated me more than anything.

            Before I could approach her, I could feel the cold eyes staring upon me.  It diverted my attention enough for me to see her mother bolt outside.  The anger raging within me as I heard the way in which she spoke to my mate.  Not too shortly after, her father begins making his way towards the forest; I know that I must leave before he catches up to me.  I quickly scatter away before he has an opportunity to get near me.  I am much quicker than they are.

            I could see her helplessness as she spoke to her mother.  I wanted to go to her that moment and hold her in my arms.  But I knew that right now was not the right way in which I should approach her.  There will be time.  There must be time.

            I need answers.  I know just where to go, but I just hope that she will be willing to meet with me. 

            Alena, I need to go to her for answers now.  She is the one witch in which I trust, and she is an immensely powerful witch.  She should be able to give me the answers in which I need.

            As quick as I can, I make me way through the forest.  It will take me a days’ worth to make it to her village, so I must leave now.

            By sunrise, I make my way nearing her village.  She has protective spells cast over her home, which makes it near impossible to find her.  I know that I will not be able to locate her unless she wants me to be able to do so.  I hope this journey has been worth the time away from my mate.  I believe she is the only one in which will have the answers in which I seek.

            Luckily as I near where I believe she should be, I see her home come visible to my naked eye.  She must have been expecting my visit today.

            It is creepy how she always seems to know what is going to happen before they occur and when I need her most.  It’s almost as if she knew I would be coming today as I see her coming outside of her house to greet me.

            “Ah, my dear Liam, I had a feeling I would be seeing you today.  How can I help you with your troubles?”

            “My mate.  She is living in a witch’s coven, but something seems to be amiss.  I have come to you for answers on my troubles.”

            “Yes, yes, I see.  For this is a complicated situation in which you have found yourself in, but one in which will unravel within time once she is with you.”

            “She is currently placed under a spell from her ‘parents.’  There is more to her than you realize.  She is not as she seems, but she is strong.  You two will be an unbreakable bond and one in which will make you and your pack the strongest.  There is much good in which you two will take care of together.”

            “But before you are able to do so, you need to win her heart, and if you are unable to do that; there will be unfortunate consequences to your pack as well as for another pack near and close to you.  It is also of upmost importance to travel to the Hawthorne pack and visit with the old Alpha Alexander once she is with you.  There, you will find more answers to your questions.  You must go on your way now before you lose your opportunity to do so.”

            After the fight, the Alpha gave up his role for his Beta Ethan.  The pack has not been the same since.  They have been a cruel and harsh pack since.

            “Remember to visit Alexander, you must remember this.  Do not let Alpha Ethan know of the girl and your plans.”

            “I don’t quite understand what the Hawthorne pack has to do with this?” I respond back.

            “It will all make sense at the right time.  There are many questions in which will be answered within time.  You must leave now. The witches will not let her go so easily.  I will include a potion for you to take as you near her so they will be unable to sense that you are of werewolf blood.”

            “Take this now.  Do not squander this time, and hurry back to her.  It won’t be easy, but she will realize your bond.  Give her time and patience, and you will be able to easily win her heart.”

            “There is only one close to her, who you can trust amongst them.  But all else, you must always be weary of them and keep your guard up at all times.  They are a dangerous group of witches and one in which you need to be careful around.

            As I make my way outside, her house suddenly disappears from my eyesight before I have an opportunity to turn around and ask any additional questions. 

            I feel more confused now then when I arrived.  I trust Alena and will do as she says.  It may not make sense now, but she has never failed me before.

            The Hawthorne pack was once the strongest pack, but a rogue attack tore them apart as they lost not only the Alpha’s Luna but also their youngest daughter. The Alpha Alexander almost completely broke by the tragedy, but he was able to kill the rogue werewolves and a witch before they were able to do any more harm to their pack.  It sent him in a down spiral though once the fight was over.  He has never been the same since. I’m not sure what they have to do with this, but I will pull them into this at the right time as directed by Alena.

            I quickly make my way back through the village and towards the forest.  I must run as swiftly as I can so I will not be wasting any more time. 

            She will be mine.  I will win her heart and she will forever be mine and in my arms.
