AVA’S POV
It feels like Cordy had left just ten minutes ago, when I hear a knock on the door. At first, I think she is just checking on me again, but then I realize that the knock is a harder knock than hers, so I assume it is not her.
As I walk over to open the door, I trip over my shoes from last night and start to stumble before I am quickly grabbed around my waist and brought back upright by Liam. I feel a spark of energy radiate through me at the slight touch from his hands on me.
At that moment, I glance in the mirror which is hanging next to the door, and I become suddenly conscious of my appearance. I was distracted with all of my thoughts this morning, that I had not yet brushed my teeth nor did anything with my hair. I unconsciously begin brushing through my hair with my hands and pull it back in a ponytail which I had on my wrist from last night.
“You look beautiful,” he states as he stares at me with a longing look in his eyes. “There’s no need for you to adjust your appearance for me. You are naturally beautiful.”
“I, uh, have nothing to change in to or a toothbrush. We kind of left in a rush last night.”
“Don’t worry. You and Cordelia are about the same size, and I’m sure she won’t mind lending you some clothes to wear. I’ll have her bring some stuff over here for you.”
“Thank you for everything you are doing for me. I don’t know how I will pay you back for your thoughtfulness, but I will think of something.”
“You don’t have to pay me back. Just take care of yourself, that is all that matters to me.”
“Thank you,” is all I can muster to say. I will find a pay to pay him back for his kindness. I don’t know what I would have done if he was not there for me last night. Although, I’m not exactly positive why he was there to begin with though.
“Why don’t you take a shower, and I will have Cordelia leave you something to wear on your bed as well as a toothbrush.”
“Thank you. It would be nice to take a hot shower.”
“I have some business to tend to, but would you like to take a short walk around the grounds afterward?”
“It would be nice to get some fresh air,” I reply back shyly, looking everywhere but in his eyes. Looking in those eyes scares me, that intensity which consumes all of me completely. The long for him which wraps itself around every inch of my body.
He starts to turn to walk back towards the door before sharply turning back towards me as if he has forgotten something in the room. His fingers reach around my lower back as he pulls my body in close to his.
I try to focus on resisting into my temptation toward him, but with my body pressed against his, I am unable to control my urge towards him. All self-control I may have had prior, has been lost. My heartbeat begins to speed up as his mouth presses against my lips, but vigorously caresses my tongue. My body takes on in instinct as it begins to rub against his and pressing further into him.
My body begins to shudder as his fingers caress down my lower back, moving me towards the bed behind us. I want more, my body needs to feel his touch.
Suddenly, we are both jolted to attention as the bedroom door opens up and we hear a voice before us, “I thought you may need…”
Oh, Cordelia. What horrible timing, I think to myself.
He abruptly pulls away from my arms as we become untangled from one another as he realizes that it was his sister that has entered the room. I feel embarrassed at being caught by her, but also because of how swept away I became by someone I hardly know.
“Um, uh, sorry. I’ll just leave this here for you Ava,” she states while throwing the clothes on the bed and quickly rushing out of the door.
“Sorry about that,” I say as I turn towards him. “I’m not sure what got into me. I’ve never done anything like that before.”
“Definitely no need to apologize,” he says before giving me a quick peck on the cheek. I should probably head out now anyways before it becomes any harder to leave you. “Besides, I probably need to take a cold shower before I see anybody else.”
As I turn on the shower, I can’t get the feeling of his touch out of my mind and how invigorating he made my body feel. His touch feels like he has awoken my body and needs. I don’t know how I’m going to be able to resist this insatiable craving in which I feel towards him. This is going to be hard to be near him.
LIAM’S POV
After that brief moment with Ava, I am unable to completely focus as I head into my office where my pack is waiting for me. I am looking forward to getting this meeting over with so I can spend some time alone with her.
“Morning everyone, we have an urgent situation to handle. As everyone knows already, I have found my mate.”
“It’s about time,” I hear from the back from one of my strongest members, Leo. He has given me crap since he found his mate last year. She is an amazing person and we have loved having her part of our pack since.
Before I get too distracted, I need to address my pack members, so they understand the situation in which I have brought to the pack. “She, however, is human. She is currently residing here and does not know anything about wolves and mythical creatures. It is of high priority that we do not transform into wolf form within the castle walls.”
“How the h*** are we supposed to hide who we are?!” I hear from Daniel in the back who is standing next to Leo.
“It’s just for the time being till we figure this out.” I say impatiently. “I’m not asking, this is a direct order from me.
I didn’t expect them to take this particularly well, but I do not want to scare her off by letting her know of our existence and I cannot take the chance that she will alert other humans of our existence. “This is a sticky situation, and I understand you are frustrated but for the time being this is what we need to do and what we will be doing onward until I direct you otherwise.
Luckily, I have Leo who is backing me up as he nudges Leo in the chest to shut up. “We’ll figure this out guys, and we need to remember that this is only temporary. We can handle not transforming for the time being, can’t we guys?!”
“Yeah, yeah. This better only be temporary,” Daniel exclaims. I expected him to be the one to give me the grief the most, but he better not go against my wishes. He is always testing the boundaries of what he can get away with, but I will not let this one pass if he goes against me.
