Clark remained seated inside his Jeep as soon as he parked in the Chandler’s driveway. He had spent most of the past hours thinking about what to say to Mark and how to go about repairing the damage he had done to their friendship. As confident and brave as he might have been in front of Amelia, he could not deny the slight fear that crept into his thoughts. What if Mark did not give his blessing?
Clark let out a frustrated sigh. He still did not believe that it would end up with him having to choose but, if push came to shove, he knew Amelia would come first. It was not something that just happened in an instant. The heart wants who the heart wants and he had a feeling, she is going to be first above everything in his life from now on.
He gave himself one final shake before getting down
