Amelia, Kate and Melissa were glad that the beach was not as crowded as they expected it to be. There were a few umbrellas near the shore but, there was enough distance from one to the other which made the area they were settled in less stuffy.
They had been lounging for an hour or two already, not yet hitting the waters since the object of today’s outing was not feeling really festive. In fact, Kate is currently slumped in her folded beach chair looking like a broken Barbie doll in a bikini.
"Kate? Are you drunk? You only had one beer!"
Melissa rolled her eyes as she nudged her friend with her foot. Amelia stared with a worried expression on her face. It was unusual not to have a chatty Kate and she already missed the sunny disposition of her best friend.
