POV
The man forced the stick out of my hands and flashed a battery-powered device light on my face.
Once the lights shone on my face, I, too, was able to capture his face. He looks handsome and calm but deadly.
Somehow and deep down, I felt safe around him, foolishly believing he wouldn't harm me.
“ What are you doing alone in the dark?" He asked me without peace in his voice while focusing the light on my face.
Opening my mouth, I replied. “ Some men wanted to take advantage of me. They just ran away before you got here.” I pointed in the direction the men ran to the stranger. I don't know what I was doing by trying to explain my ordeal to a total stranger, believing he would save me.
What if he was a bad person? He looks like a demon too.
The man didn't care about my explanation. He threw the stick in his hands away and surprisingly bent to give me the costly bracelet that Alpha Sebastian gifted me on my birthday. It had fallen out of my hands when I was struggling with the men.
“ Let's leave here immediately. It's dark” he replied like he cared while handing me the bracelet.
He turned to leave instantly and I hastily followed him, not having a direction of my own. I wasn't sure if I was going back to Alpha Sebastian's mansion. The pain of his betrayal was still fresh in my memory.
Following the stranger, I safely walked out of the building silently trending in the path of his footsteps
When we arrived at the road, he turned back and said with an unfriendly voice. “ Go back to wherever you came from and stop walking alone at night." He turned his back on me and began to walk to a black car that was packed at the other end of the road, not from the crumbled uncompleted building.
“ Please can you offer me help?" my words hit him, and he halted and turned to me.
“ Aren't you scared of asking a stranger for help?" Threat settled in his voice yet I remained intrepid.
“ I don't mind coming with you. Please don't leave me here; my life is in danger," I replied with a broken, cracked voice from the weight of Alpha Sebastian's betrayal.
" Do I seem like a saint to you? “ he replied rudely. I couldn't see the expression on his face but I could read his countenance from the way he sounded.
He seemed hopeless and fed up with life. I could tell how hurtful he was inside from the way he sounded.
“ I don't mind if you're the devil himself. Just help me out. I don't have a place to lay my head” I held the chest as my heart became heavy from the hurt.
“ You don't care if I harm you?" He asked premeditatively.
“ Not now" I shook my head. “ I can be scared of anything else but not you. All I need Is your help” I replied courageously, masking my pain like I had none.
My courage in the face of danger stunned the stranger.
He moved closer to me and stopped right at my front, his presence dominating.
“ Let's go to my pack then. I'll ensure you are protected and treated better” he said with urgency in his voice that terrified me.
Him, shifting from the once dreaded stranger to a kind man terrified me as hell. He was mean and rude earlier but became a friend all of a sudden. Unbelievable!
“ Where is your pack and what is your name?" I surprised him, standing on the ground of the friendship he had established. I just don't have anywhere to go that night.
“ I am Roman Rockwell, the Alpha of the Almond Pack,” He introduced." What's your name? “
" Aliandra Montego” I did not hesitate to respond sharply.
“ Aliandra? Nice” He complimented me.” Come with me then," he said, walking towards the car parked across the road.
Without considering what I was putting myself into, I lifted my cold feet that were dead earlier from shock, followed the man inside his car, and drove off.
About three hours later, we arrived at his pack and stopped inside a compound that looked like an empire.
Although it was night, everywhere looked like noon because of the lights that sparkled.
When I got out of his car, I wondered if I was in a different world or something. I walked around, admiring everything in the place, including the men who came to welcome Alpha Roman, the stranger.
“ You need some sleep, Aliandra." His sharp voice interrupted my sweet tour, and I walked back to him.
“ This place is extremely beautiful." My eyes continued darting around in admiration of the place.
A slight chuckle escaped from Alpha Roman’s lips and he turned to one of his men.
“ Take her inside and ensure she's well taken care of" I heard him instruct with authority in his voice.
" Yes, my lord,” The man responded and approached me with a smile on his face.
“ This way, Miss." he points in the direction of the mansion to me.
As the man led me in, three ladies in uniform walked out from the building looking all elegantly dressed and sharp. They were the Alpha’s domestic staffs I guess.
We walked inside the house and I was shown an elegant room to lay my head that night.
After a nice bath that made me forget my past, I was invited to dinner by Alpha Roman.
The dining area was outrageously large with different delicacies meticulously arranged on the table. The air, too, was cool and comforting, and I could see Alpha Roman’s handsome face clearly, although I tried to avoid his charming eyes.
“ You sent for me, my lord," I said frostily.
“Yes, sit," he responded with an air of authority, pointing to the chair opposite him.
I sat at his command while still lost at the sight of the elegant dinner.
" Aliandra," I heard my name from Alpha Roman, and my attention shifted from the artwork I was admiring to him.
“ I have something to say to you tomorrow. So, eat and get prepared for me tomorrow" He said while maintaining an uninterrupted gaze, his tone serious.
My heart dropped at his last
words. Prepare for him? For what exactly?
I was just about to say something when Alpha stood up, bid me good night, and walked away to somewhere inside the mansion that I don't know.
