CHAPTER 1
“Is he cute?”. Isabella asked Elizabeth.
“Nope. He’s mad ugly”. Elizabeth replied, making Isabella laugh.
“And you’re trying to hook me up with him?”. Isabella asked, shaking her head as she unlocked the door to their apartment.
“Point of correction, I’m not trying to hook you up. He saw your picture on my i********: and said he likes you”. Elizabeth replied and flung her purse on the couch, going to the kitchen afterwards.
“Whatever Liz. I’m not ready for a relationship yet”. Isabella replied.
“Who said you guys are gonna date? You could just be friends. For now at least”. Elizabeth defended.
“Well, look who’s NOT trying to hook me up with her childhood best friend”. Isabella said sarcastically and shook her head.
“Whatever, I’m giving him your number and that’s final”. Elizabeth said, leaving no room for argument as she took a sip of her water.
Isabella Green is an eighteen-year-old fresher in college with two best friends, Elizabeth and Charlotte, living together in the same apartment.
Even with a pretty face, crystal eyes and long black hair, Isabella had never been in a relationship. She doesn’t know who to blame between her strict parents, who made her attend an all-girls high school, and her introverted self, who does absolutely nothing but fan girl over k-pop idols and watch k-dramas in her free time.
No matter how much she thought about it, she realized she was to blame, but would that make her spend less time in her room and more time at clubs and parties? Absolutely not. She’s not cut out for all that and believes the right guy would come by at the right time, no matter where she is.
Elizabeth and Charlotte are really social and have tried taking Isabella out to parties numerous times, but she’d rather stay at home, doing absolutely nothing, than go out.
One could say she is an introvert, but she’s not. She’s really outspoken, friendly, and sassy once she gets to know someone, but the problem is that she hates leaving her comfort zone to go anywhere outside her house.
“Girl, have you even kissed anyone before?”. Elizabeth asked, plopping down on the couch next to Isabella. “Because each time Charlotte and I try to hook you up with someone, you turn it down without even giving it a single thought.”
“What do you mean? I’ve definitely kissed someone before”. Isabella flushed red.
“Really? Who? When? How? Where?”. Elizabeth asked excitedly.
“During a field trip in elementary school”. Isabella replied and the smile on Elizabeth’s face dropped immediately.
“Are you kidding me? That’s it? No other time?”. She asked and Isabella nodded. Elizabeth just groaned and shook her head.
“What? Am I supposed to go around kissing every guy on the streets of New York?”. Isabella asked
“You’ll never get married at this rate, girl. I’m telling you”. Elizabeth said and got up from the couch. “You’re coming with me and Charlotte to Bob’s party next week Saturday and that’s final, but first, reply Dylan’s text. I sent him your number so he should have texted you by now”. She said and left the living room.
Isabella groaned and grabbed her phone. As soon as she turned it on, a message notification popped up from an unknown number. She sighed and opened it.
That moment marked the beginning of a change in her life.
