Prologue
Luna stood at the edge of the forest, her slender fingers brushing the rough bark of an ancient oak tree. The moon hung heavy in the sky, casting a silver glow over the small clearing where the old school stood.
Luna had never seen such a building before; its tall, gothic spires seemed to pierce the night sky, and its large, stained glass windows glinted like jewels in the moonlight.
"Luna, come here," her mother called softly, breaking the spell of her reverie. Luna turned to see her parents standing a few steps away, their faces illuminated by the soft light of the full moon. Her mother held a delicate silver necklace in her hands, the pendant sparkling with an inner fire.
"What is it, Mama?" Luna asked, her curiosity piqued.
Her father stepped forward, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "This is a special night, Luna," he said, his voice deep and steady. "The full moon holds a unique power, and tonight, we will show you something extraordinary."
Luna's heart began to race with anticipation. She had always known her family was different, that they possessed secrets and abilities that set them apart from others. But this—this felt like the beginning of something truly magical.
Her mother took a deep breath and lifted the necklace high above her head. "Luna, watch closely," she instructed. With a graceful flick of her wrist, she tossed the necklace into the air. For a moment, it seemed to hang suspended in the moonlight, and then, as if guided by an unseen force, it began to spin.
The air around them crackled with energy, and Luna felt a tingling sensation spread through her body. The necklace spun faster and faster, until it became a blur of silver light. Suddenly, a brilliant flash illuminated the clearing, and a swirling portal opened before them, its edges shimmering with iridescent colors.
Luna's eyes widened in awe. "What is that?" she whispered, unable to tear her gaze away from the mesmerizing sight.
"It's a portal," her father explained, his voice filled with a mixture of wonder and pride. "It will take us to another world, a place where magic thrives and anything is possible."
Her mother reached out and took Luna's hand, her grip warm and reassuring. "Are you ready, my dear?" she asked softly.
Luna nodded, her excitement bubbling over. "Yes, Mama. I'm ready."
Together, they stepped through the portal, leaving the familiar world behind. As they emerged on the other side, Luna gasped in amazement. They stood in the courtyard of an enormous castle, its walls adorned with intricate carvings and glowing runes.
The air was filled with the scent of blooming flowers and the sound of distant music.
"Welcome to Everwood Academy," her father said, a smile spreading across his face. "This is where you'll learn to harness your powers and discover the true extent of your abilities."
Luna's heart swelled with excitement and gratitude. She had always known there was something special about her, but now, standing in this magical place, she felt a sense of belonging she had never known before.
As they walked through the grand entrance of the castle, Luna couldn't help but marvel at the beauty and wonder that surrounded her. The halls were lined with portraits of past students, their eyes twinkling with hidden knowledge. The air was filled with the hum of magical energy, and Luna could feel it thrumming in her veins.
Her parents led her to a large, wooden door carved with intricate patterns. Her father pushed it open, revealing a cozy room filled with books, potions, and curious artifacts. A tall, elegant woman with flowing silver hair stood by the window, her eyes sparkling with wisdom and kindness.
"Ah, you must be Luna," she said, her voice melodic and soothing. "I've been expecting you."
Luna felt a shiver of excitement run down her spine. "Yes, I'm Luna," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
The woman stepped forward and extended her hand. "I am Headmistress Elara," she introduced herself. "Welcome to Evermoon Academy. You are about to embark on a journey that will change your life forever."
Luna took her hand, feeling a surge of warmth and reassurance. "Thank you, Headmistress," she said, her eyes shining with determination. "I'm ready to learn."
The headmistress smiled and led Luna to a large, ornate desk. "Your parents tell me you have a natural affinity as a wolf," she said, her tone thoughtful. "But tell me, Luna, what do you hope to achieve here at the academy?"
Luna paused, considering the question carefully. "I want to understand who I am," she began slowly, "and to learn how to control my powers. But more than that, I want to help others and make a difference in the world."
Headmistress Elara nodded approvingly. "A noble goal," she said. "And one that I believe you are more than capable of achieving."
The headmistress, a woman of imposing yet kind demeanor, smiled warmly at Luna's parents as they stood at the entrance of the prestigious Everwood Academy. Her eyes, crinkling at the corners with genuine affection, reflected the deep respect she held for them. Renowned alumni, Luna's parents had excelled in their respective fields, leaving an indelible mark on the institution. The headmistress gestured grandly, inviting them to follow as she began the tour of the expansive campus.
As they walked, the headmistress narrated the history and achievements of the academy, her voice resonating with pride. She pointed out the state-of-the-art laboratories where Luna's mother had conducted groundbreaking research, the majestic library where her father had spent countless hours immersed in ancient texts, and the hallowed halls that had witnessed their numerous accolades. Each corner of the campus seemed to whisper tales of their brilliance and dedication, setting a lofty standard for future generations.
Luna, walking a few steps behind, felt a surge of determination.
The legacy of the Magrias wolf family was etched into the very fabric of the academy, and she was resolute in her desire to contribute to it. With every step, she silently vowed to harness her potential, to rise to the expectations set by her lineage, and to carve her own path of excellence. The headmistress's smile, a blend of encouragement and expectation, lingered in Luna's mind as she steeled herself for the journey ahead.
