Lies or Love

Rodiela, being a woman of pale complexion, had a youthful look to her with brown doe eyes with a faint hint of gold. Her lips were a light shade of strawberry red, her blonde hair fell to her waist when she threw it down due to her German and English background, but it was more in a high ponytail. She only stood at a height of five foot eight and was a very kind and considerate person who loved to spend all her time in the kitchen, adventure out with her friends and family. She would do anything she could to help her family, even if it meant having to skip out on parties just to provide a hot meal for them after a busy day at the office. Rodiela was the type of girl that could easily be in the kitchen or reading a book if she had nothing else to do while everyone else was busy. Raised in a kind and caring family, she had two older brothers who were overprotective of her. No matter what she was doing, even if they were with her, they would overreact. Her parents worked in the family business in which her grandparents started many years ago. Now, since her grandparents have retired, Rodiela’s parents have taken over. She didn’t see her parents or brothers during those days, but she was fine with that. Rodiela was able to spend time with her grandparents and able to spoil her family with a homemade meal that her grandmother had taught her that day. Due to Rodiela being the youngest of the three siblings, she didn’t need to be involved in part of the company, as her brothers were twins they were the rightful heirs to take over the company. Rodiela also had her best friends since birth by her side. Derek and Topaz have been around Rodiela as their parents are her neighbors on either side of her house. Derek’s parents are business partners with her parents, while Topaz’s parents have been her parents’ best friends since their high school years. Everyone has been one way or the other a part of each other’s lives and it made the perfect lifestyle for Rodiela. Some say she was born with the white picket fence life. But unfortunately, that changed for her when she came home from visiting her grandparents' house only to see emergency services surrounding her house with her brothers talking to an officer with a clear annoyed expression. She parked in Topaz’s driveway and sprinted to her brothers seeking an explanation, but no words were said as she saw her parents' bodies holding each other tightly as blood and foam was visible around the mouth and nose of her parents, which made her feel heartbreak at the sight. Many years later, her brothers were killed the same way while she was at her grandparents’ place, but she didn’t know until an officer informed her grandparents, but she overheard from the kitchen. She broke down into tears from heartbreak as the realization hit her. She was alone besides her grandparents. She stepped up to her role of being the only heir to the company, determined to run the organization to be the best in history, proving her family proud. Rodiel's grandma taught her how to impress the public with her image, while her grandfather taught her all the tricks behind the scenes with her grandmother's help in regards to meetings and social events such as dinners. When the death of her family went public, Rodiela's parents had to announce that they would be taking the company over until Rodiela was of age, at twenty-eight, based on what the board had come to decide. Before Rodiela knew it, her twenty-eighth birthday had come and gone. Now she was in charge of her family company with her grandparents as part of the board until they adjusted to the changes Rodiela had implemented to the foundation of the organisation.
