The Powerful Mate

Chapter 13

Aria

As we’er walking around mingling, catching up with old friends its almost time for dinner. We all make our way to our seats and dinner is shortly served. Usually the alpha makes an announcement before we begin eating but a young woman takes the stage and apologizes that the alpha had to take an urgent call and for us all to begin eating and he will be back out shortly to rejoin us. Dinner is delicious and we all have a few glasses of champagne while chatting and laughing having a good time. Eventually all the champagne gets the best of me and its time to make my way to the ladies room before I pee in this dress. I make a beeline for the women’s restroom and hurry into a stall.

Cal

The ball has begun and it turned out wonderful. I begin shaking hands and welcoming all our guests as they make their way in. After a short while of greeting everyone I am called into the office to an urgent message. “Alpha, we need to talk.” Says my Delta Finn. Finn also grew up with us in school and was a good friend to me and Everett. “What’s up? Whats going on Finn?” I ask him. “Rogues are at the east border, sir. We have stopped them but one of our warriors have been injured.” He tells me. “Okay I will call down to the pack doctor and make sure the clinic is waiting for him.” I say to Finn. “Sure thing alpha.” Rogues are nasty vile wolves who do not belong to any pack. They were either cast out from their pack or went crazy and left to be on their own. They are vicious and will kill anything or anyone. We try our best to keep our borders secure to make sure everyone in our pack is safe. I link Everett to make sure everything is going okay. “Hey man, rogues tried getting through the east border. A warrior was hurt. Can you add a few more patrol out for extra security tonight? I ask him. “You got it alpha.” My wolf is stirring in my head and I can’t figure out why. Maybe its because of the rogue incident, who knows. I shake the thought and carry on back to the ballroom. As I walk back into the room a very enticing smell fills my nose, its sweet and flowery. I look around the room frantically as I try to find who it belongs to. As I look around the whole room bumping into people and looking like a crazy person, my eyes set on her. The most beautiful woman my eyes have ever laid on. My wolf is going crazy in my head, its hard to hear anything else but him. “MATE” and I just knew it. She’s here and I have found her. Just looking at her is making me tight in the pants, with her long silky hair that I would love to run my hands through. Her beautifully shaped body in that dress, omg. I can’t stop myself from thinking what she looks like under all that. As I start making my way over to her she starts walking off. “Oh no” I think to myself, I have to follow her, I will not lose this woman. So I do, I follow her into the bathroom not even thinking, I lock the door and wait for her to come out.

Aria

I get finished going to the bathroom when all of a sudden I hear someone walk in and shut and lock the door. “What the hell” I think to myself. Then I smell it, the most mouth watering smell i’ve ever encountered. Nothing like Asher’s. Its woodsy, spiced masculine scent with a hint of freshness and I knew who it was standing outside the bathroom stall, my mate. I unlock the door squeaky door and there he is standing there just waiting for me. “MATE” is all we both say while staring at each other. I can’t believe who it is. It’s Cal. He rushed over to me and pulls me into his lips. He begins devouring me with his luscious lips, not coming up for air, like this moment will never end. He pushes me over to the wall and gently pushes me up against it. His hand caressing my face while the other slowly begins traveling up the slit of my dress until we hear a knock at the door. It wasn’t until then that we realized we were still in the women’s bathroom at the ball. He steps back and looks at me. “Aria, I can’t believe its you. I haven’t seen you in ages.” He says to me. “I know, I left a few years ago and have just came back a few days ago.” I explain to him. “I’m so glad you did.” He says to me as he pulls me in for one more kiss. We straighten our clothes and head out the door as we apologize to the woman waiting outside of it. He takes my hand and we walk back into the ballroom but before we enter he stops and looks at me. “I have to make a speech and finish saying goodbye to all my guest, please wait for me.” He says to me. I nod my head in agreement and we go back in. I make my way back over to my family and wait for Cal to make his alpha speech. There are so many things going through my mind right now but the biggest one pops into my head. Asher. Oh no. Omg what am I gonna do, he’s gonna be heartbroken… Guilt and sadness overwhelm me and I’m left with a bittersweet feeling… how am I gonna tell him.
