My heart has been racing for the past half hour. I want to get to Alexa, but I'm praying she'll still be alive by the time I do. Not knowing what's going on or what to expect is so frustrating. Not knowing who the people in my life really are adds to my frustrations. Brock has been my bodyguard for years and never once did he make me question his loyalty. He's even seemed to be genuinely concerned about Alexa all this time. What could have made him so suddenly turn on us? Was it money? Or is it more than that?
"There's something you may not know about Alexa," Sonny says as we race into the nearest town.
I look over at him with a weary expression, waiting for him to continue.
"After some investigating, I found out Alexa's had a hit out on her since the day she was born."
