Chapter 19

Chae Sung blinked, he tried to rub his eyes with his hand but it was restricted.

Ditroníse, while happy that Chae was awake, it seemed like his waiting for a big explosion, waiting for Chae's reaction.

"D–Ditro? Why are my hands restricted? What happened to you and where are we? What is going on?" Chae asked frantically trying to get free from his restraints.

Ditro stood from his chair and held Chae's hands, stopping him from hurting his healing wrists.

"Chae, you need to calm down and I will tell you everything, please just...calm down" Ditroníse whispered his voice spoke of restless nights and fatigue, he looked like a mess. What surprised Chae the most was that Ditro was pleading with him and not demanding things like before.

This means something really bad must've happened...

Chae nodded and pushed himself back on the pillows, he coughed a bit and Ditroníse stood up bringing a cup of water to Chae's lips, which Chae was very thankful for.

"I should probably call the doctors.."

"No. Not yet, I want to know what happened to me...to you...now rather than later, please" Chae pleaded, he couldn't remember much but he knew something was very wrong, something was missing in his body and in his life.

Ditro sighed and nodded.

"Let me start by saying that...I'm really sorry for what happened and how I treated you, Chae...I-I couldn't help myself, I went bat-s**t crazy for you in the most abnormal way possible.

"I drove you to do this to yourself and in turn we lost something we can never get back nor replace."

Chae's heart rate started picking up.

'what was Ditro talking about?'

"Ditro! please make sense, you're scaring me!"Chae snapped tears forming in his eyes.

"You tried to kill yourself, well you did but I rushed you here where you been in a coma for over a month, it would seem that you've been depressed for a long time and I didn't notice because I only wanted you to myself nothing more.." Ditroníse cleared his throat of the lump that was forming.

"Why would I try to kill myself? I mean yes I've been depressed, self harming and sick but that was it, I'd never entertained the thought of killing myself before....so,why now?"

Chae asked.

Ditroníse hesitated telling Chae the truth but it had to be done.

"You did it because I killed your father.." Ditro finally spoke looking at the floor and he waited...

And just like that, it was as if time stopped as Chae absorbed the info.

"You did what??!?!?!" Chae screamed.

"I'm so so sorry, Chae. I don't know what else to say because there's nothing I can say to make things better or to bring your dad back but I'm so sorry. I mean it"

"You mean it? Just like you meant all threats you ever made to me, right? Wow bravo Ditroníse! You said you'd do it and you did. How was I stupid enough to believe you wouldn't?"

"What can I do to make you forgive me, Chae?" Ditroníse asked sincerity dripping in his words.

"You really want me to forgive you?"

"Yes, I'll do anything.."

Chae narrowed his teary eyes...

"Anything?"

Ditro visibly gulped.

"Yes. Anything"

"I want a divorce, Ditro"

Ditroníse couldn't say that he was surprised, he knew that was coming.

He sighed.

"I divorce you, the state takes you" Ditroníse replied after a sigh and that confused Chae.

"What the hell does that mean?"

"It means, the state will put you away. Take you to a psychiatric hospital, one of my doctors told me that the hospital's psychiatrist strongly recommended that you be institutionalized. Because you committed suicide while knowing very well that you carried life inside and yet you took measures not only to end your life but the baby's life, you were over four months pregnant going to five, ten weeks is the limit for legal abortion.

"If you were not married then it would be understandable as to why you made that decision alone, but you're married and yet you didn't think to tell me about the pregnancy:

"You took away my rights as a father, Chae and took away our baby boy..." Ditroníse sniffled his throat constricting as tears flowing.

Chae was shaking his head in denial as Tears flowed unrestricted, he didn't want to believe Ditro but he remembered that the man barely lied and frankly had no reason to lie but...but..

"No...no..no" he kept shaking his head.

"Yes Chae..you killed him, you killed our son.."

Chae's head flew back into the pillows as he released a pained blood curdling scream, he shifted his body side to side, screaming, crying and shouting that it was a lie.

But deep down he knew it was true.
